Blog Entry
An entry from the community blog
Welcome message for the new Fet Library Blog
Hello, and welcome to something a little new around here.
If you've been visiting Fet Library for a while, you'll know this site has always been about one thing at its heart: giving people a place to belong. A place to read, to dream, to explore the parts of themselves they might not feel comfortable sharing anywhere else. That's always been the mission, and it always will be.
But today, I'm excited to open a new door, the Fet Library blog.
A little bit about where we came from
For those of you who are new here, let me tell you a little about why this place exists. Like a lot of you, I spent years feeling like an outsider in my own skin. My submissive and masochistic nature felt like a secret I had to carry alone, something to be ashamed of and repressed. I wanted to be "normal", whatever that even means.
What saved me, in a very real sense, were sites like BDSM Library. Reading stories written by people who felt the same way I did made me feel seen. It gave me the courage to eventually start writing my own stories, and through that writing I found some of my closest friends, and eventually my wonderful wife, Fiona.
So when BDSM Library went dark in 2017, I felt it personally. After waiting a year for it to come back, I decided to do something about it. I taught myself what I needed to know and in August 2018 launched the first version of Fet Library. It was basic, but it was a start. Since then, it's grown into something I'm genuinely proud of, a platform where authors can share their work and readers can lose themselves in it.
What this blog is for
The blog is a new space for our community to have a voice beyond fiction. I want it to be a home for anything relevant to who we are and how we live, personal reflections, experiences, advice, musings, humour, opinion pieces. Whatever feels right to you, as long as it speaks to the world this site is built around.
This isn't just my blog. It belongs to all of you.
How it works
Any member of the community can write a blog post and submit it for publication. I'll read every submission personally and, as long as it fits the spirit of the site, I'll post it here. I want this to be an open, warm, and authentic space, the same values the site has always tried to embody.
If you've got something to say, I'd genuinely love to hear it.
Thank you
To everyone who has visited, read, written, or simply found comfort here, thank you. Building this site has been one of the most rewarding things I've done, and knowing it means something to people makes every hour spent on it worthwhile.
Here's to a new chapter.
