How publishing works

  1. Start with a draft

    Choose a working title, or import a story from a Word or HTML document or a supported story site.

  2. Agree and write

    Accept the author's agreement, then write, paste or edit your story. You can return to your draft from Your stories.

  3. Review the details

    Add a synopsis and tags, check the story format, and complete the required detail check. The editor shows what is still needed.

  4. Choose to publish

    Use the final publishing action when you are ready. Your story may go live or enter moderation review. Scheduled publishing is available to eligible supporters.

What you will need

A working title and your story text are enough to get started. You can add the synopsis and tags as you go. Creating or importing a draft does not publish it.
