My cheek sank down in the soft padding of the duvet. With my eyes closed, I rolled over onto my back as my mind drifted away into a colourful sea of nothing. The hourglass broke and I smiled as its red-tinted sand spread out over the floor.
Suddenly a weight pushed down on both my wrists. I opened my eyes. My arms were no longer lying beside me. I looked up.
'Hey,' she said, a smile playing on her lips as she held my arms above my head.
I wriggled with no intent to escape and felt her weight pushing down on my wrists more firmly.
I smiled playfully. 'Can't you ever just leave me alone in peace?'
'That's not up to you, pet.'
A shiver ran through me. I looked to my left, then to my right before getting caught in her stare. I started blushing and then opened my mouth, but for a moment no noise came out.
I tried to wriggle out of her grip more convincingly and then quickly said: 'I'm not a pet.'
My heartbeat started pounding faster. Abruptly I turned my head on its side to avert my eyes. The pressure on my wrists didn’t change. She didn’t move in the slightest or even say a word but I could feel her stare. Hear both our breathing.
Slowly, I turned my head to look her in the eye. She looked amused, her eyebrow was slightly raised.
‘Say it,' she said, her voice suddenly stern. The warmth gone.
At once, I lost my ability to move. I sucked in all the air and temporarily stopped breathing. I could not look away from her eyes as a blush spread over my face and firework stars lit it up inside my body.
Slowly, she leaned forward while keeping me locked in her stare. Strands of her hair touched my upper body. Warm air tickled the inside of my ear.
‘Say it,’ she repeated.
A sudden bite in my ear made my body jolt up against the pushing weight of her body.
‘I’m a pet,’ I whispered, barely audible when her teeth left my ear and she raised back up above me and looked me straight in the eye.
She didn’t have to say it. Her eyes told me exactly what she wanted me to say.
‘I’m your pet Mistress,’ I said louder this time, causing all the strength to flow out of my body. I was shaking and could barely identify my voice as mine.
Then she smiled again, let go of my wrists and pulled me in a hug while lying on top of me.
‘Good pet,’ she said.
I made some sort of noise without saying an actual word. I curled up against her and finally felt my body relax against her warmth. I closed my eyes. ‘I love you,’ I said.
'Love you too, my pet.'
