The cold steel bars of the cage. So unyielding, unforgiving and yet they also feel protective. This is day 20 in the cage. It feels so much smaller than when I went in. Worse yet is not knowing when or I suppose at this point, if I will ever get out. Water is not a problem, but food is. I was lucky in that respect, I guess. Wait let me go back to the beginning so you can better understand.

My name is Carrie. I’m 28 years old and have been told by people that I am good looking. I think I have many flaws but then again don’t we all. I have had the fetish of being caged since I was in grade school when friends locked me in a dog carrier. Nothing sexual back then but the fun of being in the cage set in my mind back then. Later in high school, I found myself locked in a stand-up locker and decided I really liked that as well. Not that I would ever admit that to anyone.

Finally, when I was 20, I had a boyfriend that was willing to buy a real dog cage for me and keep me in it for hours at a time. While the BDSM play with him was fun the rest of the relationship sucked, and we went separate ways. Soon after I found out about self-bondage.

I love being in tight ropes, chains or even leather cuffs but what really gets me going is being helplessly locked in a cage. I never thought I would be able to follow that dream as what I wanted cost much more than I could afford. Then I got very lucky indeed. At the office Christmas party a few years ago, the manager handed out lottery tickets. I won a modest $20m and quietly quit a year later, never telling anyone there I won.

I moved to a more secluded area out in Colorado with a lot of property and no neighbors and began to outfit dungeon in the basement. This one was designed for self-indulgence.  It included three different cages. I also researched how to set up magnet locks and use computers to control the timers. I have spent a lot of time down here, as you might imagine.

The thing is. I like to push the boundaries. See how much longer I can stay in bondage or lock in one of my cages. I should mention though, I am a very active person. I run daily, hike a lot, have a bike that I use to explore with and in general don’t sit around for very long. So being in a cage is a double edge sword for me. On the one side I love the confined space and protection it provides, but I also want out after a few hours so I can move around and do things. It’s almost never that I get bored, I do sometimes, but more that I get antsy and need to move more than my bondage allows.

My smallest cage is shaped like a bird cage. It even has a ring on the top and can be suspended. I have set up a computer to activate a winch system to lift me up, so I am suspended high in the air. The key to my release is on the floor so I can’t get out until the cage goes back down. I can do about an hour sometime a little longer before I really want out. I usually set the timer for two hours.

The second cage is more of a cell or cubby. It is just big enough for me to stand in and the front gate closes trapping me inside the wall. To make it really interesting I will go in facing the back wall and then not be able to see out until I am released. I can tolerate this one for a few hours and have pushed myself to stay in it for a full 8 hours once. I decided that was too long though. Which of course is why next time I will likely do a full day. Sleeping while standing might be interesting.

The last cage is my long-term cage. It is in the basement also, but in a different room. This room is all white. The door to the room has its own lock and I can be locked inside if I choose. The cage itself is big enough for me to stand and move around in. It has a prison style toilet/sink in the cage, and I keep sealed containers of dry dog food within reach of the cage.

This brings us to how I get myself stuck in here. I decided to push for a bit longer session. I start by programming the computer to keep me locked for a random time. I set the minimum time at 3 days and the max time at 7 days. I have done longer but this would work nicely with having me out in time to go to a concert I wanted to attend.

The way it works is like this. I set up the parameters in the computer in the outer room. Then I go in the cage room and close the door. A large flat screen TV comes to life and displays the follow message: Outside Door: LOCKED. The door will only open after the program finishes running. But to start the program I have to be in the cage and pull the cage door closed. I probably could cheat it if I really wanted to but what’s the fun in that? I step into the cage and pull the door closed. The screen displays a new message. Cage: LOCKED.

I wait for a few minutes for the next messages. Elapsed time: 000.00.01.45 and counting up. This indicates Days, hours, minutes and seconds since I closed the door. A minute later the next message appears. Time Remaining: HIDDEN. I had the option to display the time or hide it from myself. I almost always hide it. Finally, the last message showed up. Random Time Event: 3 days to 700 days.

I stared at the screen for several minutes before the reality of the message sank in. I looked at the containers of dry dog food. I always keep a lot down here. Not because I wanted to have a lot available but because it was easier to buy in bulk and just store it. I use dry dog food to make my stay less enjoyable. It also lasts a very long time. I tried to estimate how long it might last but my best guesses were well short of a year. That’s assuming it didn’t get overly sick from malnutrition. Dog food is okay for a few days at best.

I looked at the screen again and reread the 700 days. This time I screamed. After I got the scream out, I fell down and cried. No one knew I was here. No one ever visited. I had a lawn guy that took care of everything outside and got paid via auto payments. All of my bills were autopay. I joke with someone once that if I died, they might not notice for several years.

I decided to take a more optimistic approach to being stuck in here. First, I reasoned that I had the same chance of getting out in three days as 700. Very low odds for either actually. The best guess was a bell curve with the actual number closer to the middle. In reality, this would not be true but in practice random numbers seldom hit the edges. I had time to inventory the food supplies more carefully and decided that if I was very careful, I could make it last a year. Or around the halfway point. It would mean being hungry a lot of the time and I would lose a lot of weight, but I would still be alive. Assuming I lasted long enough for the computer to unlock the door.

I am allowing myself a quarter bowl each day and all the water I can drink. The days are boring, and I sleep as much as I can, but I find that you can only sleep so much. I watched the screen. Elapsed Time: 020.13.25.18 and counting.

Author’s note: For those into self-bondage, the fantasy of making a mistake and being trapped forever can be fun. I real life though, this leads to nasty consequences. If you indulge in this play, be safe and always have a back-up plan.
As for Carrie, I leave her fate to your imagination.
