In the autumn of 1946, Celia Harcourt and Eleanor Vance, two women who had gained independence and confidence during the war, find themselves frustrated and resentful as their husbands, Frank and Arthur, reassert their dominance in the household. Determined to reclaim their power, Celia and Eleanor devise a plan to control their husbands through psychological and physical means. They commission a skilled craftsman, Briggs, to create steel chastity cages, which they use to enforce their newfound authority. The story follows their journey as they expand their influence, forming a secret society of like-minded women and eventually infiltrating the highest echelons of society. The narrative explores themes of power, control, and the complex dynamics of relationships, culminating in a celebration of their dominance and the establishment of a new order.
