Jane's Breakdown

Momma had leaned into the car as soon as she saw Jane slump. She found the control for the trunk and popped it open. As she did so the leader and doc hurried past her carrying the unconscious woman.

The two men dumped Jane in the trunk. The leader allowed himself to reflect on how slim she was. He felt a huge sense of excitement thinking about the fun he was going to have; that they all were going to have.

He looked at Doc, “you say she’s out for at least two hours ?” he asked.

Doc nodded “probably more, she’s a bit skinnier than I thought”

The leader slammed the trunk lid down, “that’s long enough” he said “no need to tie her, let’s get out of here before someone comes along”. He looked at momma, you happy to drive the fancy car darlin’ ?” he asked.

“You try and stop me” Momma said grinning.

“Ok” the leader said, “it will look suspicious if we stick together. Fresno, you and Shorty drop back and pick up Bear, we are heading for that camp site down the unused fire-road that’s around 20 miles ahead, stick to the speed limits and if you start to catch me and doc who will stay behind momma in the car, drop back”

He looked now at the very biggest man, “Moose, you and Badger go ahead and pick up Miguel on the way, you know where to meet, but if you come across anyone we don’t want to meet send someone back.” He paused “Momma give them five minutes then drive after em, I was gonna suggest you take off your colours, but you beat me too it.” Momma was already removed her denim and leather jackets and tucked them out of sight in the back of the car. The blouse she wore was grubby but unremarkable.

Looking around the leader looks directly at you, “you me and doc will follow momma five minutes behind” he said.
