Chapter 10 of 25
"The fuck?" Anna muttered, her rhythm broken. Anna wiped her forehead with the back of her hand, her eyes narrowing at the door. "Stay there," she commanded Chloe, though the older woman was barely conscious, her body twitching in the aftershocks of her forced orgasm.
Anna grabbed a towel, wrapping it loosely around her sweat-slicked body, and stomped to the door. She threw the deadbolt and yanked it open, the metal frame groaning in protest.
Standing in the doorway was a silhouette that seemed to absorb the dim light from the hallway. Marcus Thorne was a mountain of a man, tall and broad-shouldered, wearing a leather trench coat that looked like it had seen more back alleys than tailor shops. His face was a map of harsh angles and old scars, with eyes that were dark and beady, like a shark circling a wounded fish. He smelled of stale tobacco, expensive cologne, and the copper tang of blood.
"Anna," Marcus rumbled, his voice a deep, gravelly grind that seemed to vibrate in Chloe’s chest even from across the room. He didn't wait for an invitation; he stepped inside, his heavy boots thudding dully against the floor, and closed the door with a soft click that sounded final.
"Marcus," Anna said, her voice losing none of its edge, though she shifted her stance, crossing her arms over her chest. "I didn't call for a cleanup crew."
"I know the sound of fresh kink from three blocks away," Marcus said, ignoring her tone. He walked past her, his gaze locking onto the bed, onto the trembling, exposed form of Chloe. A slow, predatory smile spread across his lips, revealing teeth that were slightly yellowed but impossibly strong. He looked at Chloe not as a person, but as a butcher inspecting a side of beef. "And I certainly know the smell of a broken bitch when I smell one."
He stopped at the foot of the bed, his eyes crawling over Chloe’s heaving chest, down to the fresh, angry red tattoo on her pubic mound, and then to the mess of fluids between her legs. "Property of," he read aloud, his tongue clicking against the roof of his mouth. "Very nice. Classic. But it's missing something."
He reached into his coat pocket, pulling out a silver Zippo lighter. He flicked it open, the flame dancing in his eyes for a moment before he snapped it shut again. "You've got the canvas marked, Anna. But you're keeping her all to yourself. That's... wasteful."
He looked at Anna then, his expression turning business-like. "I heard the noises. I heard the screaming. This one isn't just a slut for you, is she? She's a masochist. A needy, desperate little pain-pig." He gestured to Chloe with his chin. "I’ve got clients uptown in the penthouse suite—guys who pay a premium for a suburban MILF who looks like she hates herself as much as this one does."
Marcus leaned down, getting close to Chloe’s face, the smell of him overwhelming her senses. "Tell me, sweetheart," he whispered, his voice dripping with a false, oily sympathy. "Do you like being a toy? Because Auntie Anna here... she's an artist. But me? I'm a businessman. And I think we can turn you into a very profitable enterprise."
He straightened up, turning his back on Chloe to face Anna. "The offer stands, Anna. Stop playing house and let's put her to work. The Motel Thorne is always looking for fresh talent, and a piece of meat like her? She'll pay for the renovations in a week."
Chloe shrank back against the headboard, the stained motel sheets pulled up to her chin in a futile attempt to cover the "Property of" stinging just above her pubic bone. Marcus’s gaze was a physical weight, crawling over her skin like a colony of ants, reducing her from a mother, a wife, a human being, to a line item on a ledger. The sheer casualness of his assessment—the way he talked about "clients" and "profit" as if she were a faulty appliance being brought in for repair—was more terrifying than Anna’s personal cruelty. Anna wanted to possess her soul, but this man wanted to rent her out by the hour, and the realization that her body was now a topic of negotiation between two predators made the room spin violently.
Anna’s lip curled, exposing a flash of teeth that was more feral than friendly. She stepped forward, inserting herself between Marcus and the bed, her small frame radiating a dangerous energy that belied her size. "You're not touching the merchandise, Marcus," she snapped, smoke from her cigarette curling around her words like a serpent. "She’s not for the lineup. She’s a bespoke project, not a twenty-dollar blowjob in the parking lot." She flicked the ash onto the carpet, her eyes narrowing as she sized him up. "I’m breaking her for me, not for your uptown pervs who don't know the difference between a scream of agony and a scream of boredom. She needs precision, not a gangbang."
Marcus chuckled, a dry, rattling sound that seemed to vibrate through the floorboards, and undeterred by her defiance, he leaned in close to Anna, invading her personal space with the confidence of a man who owned the building and everyone inside it. "Precision doesn't pay the electric bills, darling," he murmured, tapping a calloused finger against the silver bar in her lip. "You think you own her because you put a little ink on her? That’s just a brand. Ownership is about control, and control is about... utility." He glanced over Anna’s shoulder at Chloe, his eyes lingering on the fresh tattoo with a calculating hunger. "Keep her to yourself all you want, but eventually, you're going to get bored. And when you do, come find me. I’ve got a barcode stamp that would look perfect right next to that pretty little slogan. We’ll see how much she’s worth on the open market."
"Don't hold your breath," Anna shot back, though her eyes flickered with a dangerous calculation at the mention of a price tag. She took a final drag of her cigarette, crushing the butt out on the scratched surface of the bedside table with a deliberate, possessive slowness. "This one isn't for your auction block. She's a long-term investment, and I don't share my toys until they're fully depreciated. Now, unless you're here to fix the AC, get the hell out of my room. We have a schedule to keep, and your cologne is stinking up the workspace."
Marcus held her gaze for a long, heavy moment, the air between them thick with unspoken threats and the electricity of a power struggle in progress. Then, he threw his head back and laughed, a harsh, barking sound that seemed too large for the dingy room. "You've got the heart of a shark, Anna. I'll give you that." He backed toward the door, his leather coat creaking with the movement, but his eyes never left Chloe’s trembling form huddled on the mattress. "Enjoy your 'project.' Just remember—the Motel Thorne is always hungry for fresh meat, and I have a very long memory when it comes to assets that wander my halls." With a final, mocking salute, he stepped out into the corridor, the heavy door clicking shut behind him and sealing them back into the stagnant, sex-heavy air.
Silence rushed back into the void left by his departure, but the room felt smaller now, the walls pressing in with the weight of his proposition. Chloe lay paralyzed, the word "depreciated" echoing in her mind alongside the terrifying image of a barcode etched into her skin. The sanctuary of Anna’s twisted possessiveness had been breached, revealing the jagged, corporate teeth of the machinery that now chewed at the edges of her life. She watched Anna move back to the vanity, the younger woman’s silhouette framed by the flickering neon sign outside, and realized with a sinking dread that while Anna might be the one holding the knife, Marcus was the one sharpening it, and she was nothing more than the cutting board in between.
The fluorescent lights of the motel parking lot felt like a spotlight aimed directly at Chloe's shame. She stood shivering next to the car, Anna’s leather jacket draped over her shoulders—the only thing hiding the fact that her arms were bound tightly to her torso, her breasts compressed and exposed beneath the leather. The cool air bit at her legs, bare below the hem of the coat, and she winced as she shifted her weight, the thick silicone plug Anna had shoved inside her ass dragging against her insides.
"Get in," Anna commanded, tossing the car keys into Chloe’s lap as she slid into the driver's seat herself. She didn't look like a teenager anymore; she looked like a chauffeur for a very specific kind of hell. "And don't you dare squirm. If that plug pops out before we're in the garage, I'm making you walk to the front door on your knees."
Chloe bit her lip to stifle a whimper and maneuvered herself into the passenger seat. Every movement was a battle against the invading object, a constant, throbbing reminder of her lack of ownership over her own body. As Anna started the engine and peeled out of the lot, the vibration of the car sent shockwaves through Chloe’s pelvis, the hum of the motor translating into a torturous resonance against the plug. With her arms bound tightly in front of her, she was completely unable to stabilize herself. She rattled around the cabin like a loose piece of luggage, sliding across the leather seat with every turn and brake, her body helpless to resist the momentum of the drive.
