Chapter 32 of 32

Epilogue

Beth raised her head as Rebecca’s hand pierced through Murray’s chest. She watched as her old enemy ripped the remnants of Murray’s heart from her. The sound of the shield shattering and falling apart had roused her from the painful blow she’d taken. The sight of Rebecca standing over Anna Murray’s corpse, her hand dripping blood and gore, was something to behold. Her body was still glowing with a violet energy, and blood had splattered on her top and her cheeks. Admittedly, Beth had mixed feelings about the sight.

On the one hand, Beth was glad to see Anna Murray dead once and for all. The woman had been a thorn in her and Jake’s side for years, and she couldn’t bring herself to feel any semblance of sympathy for the sociopath. However, seeing the former Goth Goddess standing there covered in blood reminded her of the sadist that had nearly ruined her life. She knew that she was on her side, she had to at least believe that much, but it wasn’t easy to separate the old from the new.

A sudden blast of volatile electricity shot out from Anna and sent Rebecca careening backwards. She managed to land on her feet, but the power surge caused the lights to flicker and several items to start malfunctioning. Beth wondered what all it might have affected, but she supposed they’d find out soon enough. She pushed herself up and fought to climb back to her feet. Her back was aching from the collision with the bookcase, but she could also feel her muscles burning from the near constant running they’d been doing in this hellhole.

She spotted Jake behind Rebecca with his eyes shut. He must have been knocked out. Pam was near Rebecca as well, but she couldn’t tell if she was awake or not. From what she could tell for sure, it was just her and Rebecca awake and on their feet. “Nice job,” she cleared her throat, earning a surprised and startled jump from Rebecca, “I guess that’s two bets I’d have lost. I didn’t think you’d call in calvary with Sadie, and I definitely didn’t think you’d axe the psycho-doc.”

Rebecca hadn’t noticed Beth getting back to her feet. She’d been staring at her hand that had held Murray’s heart mere seconds ago. The blood dripping from it reminded her of the woman she’d been before her takeover of Metropolis. She looked over at the woman that had been a thorn in her side for years and shook her head. “Have you no faith, Elizabeth?” she asked, “You would do well to remember that I am not one to be trifled with.”

“Hmph, so you’re gonna keep the whole bravado thing going?” Beth crossed her arms and looked around, “It’s just us here, and I saw that look on your face. I know you think I’m stupid, but-”

“That is not what I think,” Rebecca cut her off, avoiding eye contact, “I think you are arrogant and presumptuous, but I have never thought you were stupid. Foolish at times, yes, but someone that has bested me and adapted in the ways you have is not stupid.”

“Then knock the tough gal act off,” Beth sighed, ignoring the other insults that Rebecca had thrown at her, “Level with me, what’s going through your head?”

Beth winced, tripping over her boots and one of the books that had fallen off the shelves. She caught herself but let out an annoyed sigh as she tried to straighten up. “You are hurt,” Rebecca remarked, looking back at Pam who was still on the ground, “Go sit next to Pamela. I can heal you two.”

“Are you gonna keep avoiding my question?” Beth asked.

“Who says I am avoiding it?” Rebecca frowned, “Jake would want me to make sure that you two are fine. I believe that he and Pamela would say it is the right thing to do.”

Beth gave her a skeptical look, “What about him?”

“He is sleeping,” Rebecca replied, gesturing to Pam’s prone body, “I made sure he was fine before I…before I ended the doctor. Now, have a seat.”

“Fine,” Beth sighed, deciding to concede and let her ex-enemy work her magic.

She hobbled over to Pam and sat down beside her. She carefully put a hand on her girlfriend’s slender frame and pulled her over. Beth was gentle as she moved Pam’s head to rest in her lap. She smiled down at her, thankful that she was still breathing, but hating the blood that was dried on her face around her cheeks and her nose. She pulled one of her gloves off and ran her fingers through her hair. She barely noticed Rebecca approaching with slightly heavy footfalls causing the floorboards to creak with every step.

Beth waited and watched as Rebecca knelt beside her. Her hands began to glow a strange shade of green, and Beth couldn’t stop herself from flinching. “Relax, this is druidic healing magic,” Rebecca explained, pulling a handful of dried herbs from her pocket, “Long before I became the Goddess that you knew, I was a woman seeking a place to belong. I found it with a coven deep in the forests. They were the ones that taught me that magic was more than something given by the dark ones in the underworld.”

“Hmph, I think that’s the most you’ve ever shared with me,” Beth scoffed, eyeing Rebecca suspiciously as she ran her hands over Pam, “You’re, uhm, you’re different than I remember. Yeah, I know you don’t have a demon in you or whatever, but that look on your face a few seconds ago. You were scared.”

“Is that what you believe?” Rebecca asked.

“It’s what I know,” Beth answered, “The question is what scares you? A woman like you that just broke through and slaughtered Anna Murray in one of the coldest ways possible doesn’t flinch until after she’s dealt the killing blow. The way I see it, there’s only two explanations. Either you’re crazier than I thought, or you’re afraid of what you did.”

“Hmph, the amateur detective strikes again,” Rebecca chuckled, watching Pam’s wounds close up, “Very well then, Elizabeth. You are almost correct. It isn’t what I did that frightens me, it is how easy it was to do it. More than that-”

“You’re afraid of what Jake will think,” Beth finished as Rebecca finished with Pam and looked down at her cuts.

Rebecca’s frown deepened as she looked at Beth’s wounds. She hesitated for a second as she collected her thoughts and prepared her reply. The truth was that she hated that Beth was right, but she wasn’t going to deny it. There simply wasn’t a point. “Hold still,” she finally said, “Yes, that is exactly what I was-what I am afraid of. Despite everything between us, I still care about him and what he thinks.”

Beth watched as the green glow spread and closed her cuts. She could feel the warmth radiating in and around her body. Rebecca was avoiding eye contact with her. She couldn’t remember if she’d ever seen her look as meek as she did right now. “Promise to keep this between us?” she asked.

“Would anyone believe that you and I had a civil discussion?” Rebecca countered.

“Fair enough,” Beth chuckled, “Pam might, but she’d probably think one of us hit our head or something.”

“Say what you were going to say, Elizabeth,” Rebecca said.

“Still a stick in the mud,” Beth grumbled and sighed, “It’s probably not worth much to you, but I don’t think you’re a monster. You can be an uppity bitch, but you’re not a monster.”

“Am I supposed to take that as a compliment?” Rebecca asked.

“Take it however you want,” Beth shrugged, “I call ‘em like I see ‘em. You’ve got a past, and you haven’t really been what anyone would consider kind when it comes to me. You’re missing the point, though. I’m saying that you’re not a monster, at least I don’t think you are. I think that you’re just a woman that wanted to make sure that someone you care about was safe. Sometimes that means we do shit that can be brutal, gruesome even, but that doesn’t make us any less human. I don’t know everything that Jake thinks, but I don't think he’s gonna look at you like that.”

Rebecca looked away as she finished her healing spell on Beth. The truth was that she’d acted to do more than just save Jake. He’d been the catalyst, but she’d also been thinking of Pam and Beth. “Let us hope you are right,” she finally said, “If it is all the same to you, I think that I would rather him not see me covered in blood and gore. Perhaps you have a point, but I like to think that I still have a chance to make a decent impression with him. We should make our way back downstairs and check on the others.”

The truth was that Beth couldn’t have cared less about the impression that Jake had of Rebecca. The fact was that she would have been fine if the two of them never rekindled whatever their relationship was beyond the friendship they had now. She believed that Rebecca was changing, that she’d made some strides, but at her core she was still the same judgmental woman that continually rubbed Beth the wrong way. There were some things that were impossible to forget.

“Yeah, you got a point,” Beth nodded, straightening up, “Thanks, by the way, that helped out a lot.”

“You are welcome,” Rebecca said, touching the back of her hand to Pam’s cheek.

“We can put Jake in a bed so he can rest,” Beth said, nodding at her friend, “I can carry him. You know, so you don’t have to get blood on him.”

Rebecca seemed hesitant for a moment, but she closed her eyes and nodded. “Thank you,” she conceded, “I would appreciate that.”

“Ugh, my head,” Pam groaned as her eyes fluttered open, “Wait, Murray, we need to-”

“Chill, Pam, she’s gone,” Beth softly assured her girlfriend as she tensed in her arms, “Rebecca gave her a one way ticket to Hell.”

“She…she’s gone?” Pam asked, looking up at Beth and then to Rebecca who still had blood dripping off of her, “You did it?”

“She no longer resides on this plane,” Rebecca nodded, getting to her feet, “Elizabeth and I were just discussing how we need to make our way back downstairs to check on the others.”

Pam pushed herself into a sitting position and winced. Her head was still aching and she still felt like she was underwater. “Easy, Pam,” Beth said, holding a hand out to make sure that her girlfriend didn’t fall back, “Don’t push yourself.”

“I’m fine,” Pam assured her, moving Beth’s hand away and climbing to her feet, “Well fine may be an overstatement, but I’m well enough to stand. Chaos is dead along with Murray, right?”

“Yeah, she’s gone,” Beth nodded, watching as Pam got up and stood on shaky legs, “I’m gonna grab Jake so we can head. Are one of you able to get us down there? I’m guessing the elevator is probably out after the living EMP went off.”

“I can manage,” Rebecca nodded.

“Let’s not wait,” Pam agreed, taking two steps forward.

Beth nodded and stood up. She walked over to her friend’s unconscious form, knelt beside him, and scooped him into her arms as she’d done countless times before. She was reminded of all the times in the past where she’d had to carry him out of the scene of a battle between one of their psychotic rivals. Of course, there had been plenty of times where the roles had been reversed, but it was a familiar feeling all the same. She held him close and walked over to Rebecca and Pam who’d made their way to the massive hole that Chaos had made in the floor. She stopped beside them and gave Rebecca a final nod signaling that she was ready.

Rebecca held her arms out and let a purple mist begin to radiate from her hands. It rolled off of her and fell down around her. The mist fell down and surrounded their ankles. A set of raven wings took shape behind her and spread out. The three of them began to rise into the air for a brief second just over the lip of the hole in the floor. The trio slowly descended into the darkened observatory beneath Murray’s office. The lights were out, and there was debris and broken glass near the windows from where Chaos had broken through to get to MUrray’s office.

They landed and looked around. None of them had spent much time surveying the room. They’d been in such a hurry to get to Murray and end their nightmare that they hadn’t seen the doorway on the far side. A stairwell could be seen in the darkness. There were several folders and scattered papers on a nearby desk, but it was too dark to make out what any of them might have been. Rebecca frowned and held up a hand to pull the mist upward and morphed it into a ball of light that hovered around them. A simple candlelight spell to combat the shadows that surrounded them.

They filed through the doorway and down the stairwell that led into the operating room below. Rebecca let Beth and Pam go first to keep the spell behind them. She looked back and spotted a strange liquid in a vial. It looked almost like some type of black sludge, but what was strange was that it looked like it was moving. Her eyes could have been playing tricks on her, but she swore she saw it move from one end of the vial to the other. There was a note beneath it, but she didn’t have time to check it. Their friends needed them, but more importantly Jake needed a bed.

They walked down the stairs and opened the double doors into the operating room. The first thing that had stood out to Beth had been the lack of noise. The sounds of fighting hadn’t come through while they were upstairs, and as they neared the doors it was still absent. The amount of Dolls that had been pouring into the room had been shocking, yet all there was was silence. There were no gunshots, no screams, or anything indicating any type of fighting or battle. Pam stepped forward and pushed the door open into the darkened theater.

The sight before them consisted of countless bodies of mangled Dolls, patients, lying on the ground. Some of them had been killed by bullets, stabbing, or blunt trauma, but there were several that seemed to have collapsed. “What the hell?” Beth asked, looking around and stepping over the bodies.

“Hey, over here!” Sally shouted from across the room.

“They’re alive,” Beth said, relieved to see her aunt and the rest of their friends, “Holy shit, they’re alive.”

The three of them picked up their pace to rejoin their group. Jason and Sally stood beside Kaitlyn, Addy, and Sadie surrounded by dozens of corpses. “Well, it seems that the witches were able to pull off the win after all,” Sadie chuckled, “I told you all that they had it under control.”

“We never said they didn’t,” Addy rolled her eyes, stepping over the bodies strewn out around them, “Who says that they were the ones who finished things?”

“Call it a hunch,” Sadie smirked, holstering her pistol, “A sort of shared history between myself and your betters, little girl. Judging by the bang that went off upstairs, I doubt that our heroes today were the usual suspects. Well, that and the blood dripping from the fallen Goddess.”

“Who gives a shit who got the killing blow,” Sally sighed, looking around at them, “We’re alive, that bitch is dead, and we’re together again. For the first time in over a fucking year things are looking up for us.”

“Yeah, don’t go getting all your hopes up here,” Jason sighed, looking around, “This is one leg of a race to finish things. The city is still under the thumb of the Brunswick sisters, got a horde of zombie workers, and a swarm of automated defenses combing through the city. All we’ve done is shut down a madhouse and the place where they’ve been churning out soldiers.”

“I see you’re still a ray of sunshine and optimism,” Kait shook her head, “Let us have this, Jason. We’ve spent the last year in this place being tortured, abused, and-”

Kait took a step forward and her knee buckled. Her adrenaline had begun to wear off since the fighting had finally drawn to a close. Addy hurried to catch her and steady her. Kait gave a silent nod of appreciation to her apprentice. “Are you alright?” Beth asked.

“She was Murray’s favorite,” Addy answered for her mistress, “She was continually used and abused in ways that Sally and myself couldn’t dream of. The fact that she’s stood this long after the abuse that she took is incredible enough.”

“Don’t be ridiculous, Addy,” Kait shook her head, “There’s nothing impressive about any of this.

“Hmph, I never thought I’d see the day when the great Kaitlyn the Conqueror showed modesty,” Sadie scoffed, “Then again, I never thought I’d see the day where the Goth Goddess fought for someone other than herself. These are indeed strange times that we live in.”

“Yeah, terrific, shit is all warm and fuzzy,” Jason sighed, “We need to get out of here, pronto. What’s the deal with Blackridge?”

“He received an injection from one of Murray’s helpers,” Rebecca summarized for him, “He is asleep, but he is alive. We need to get him to a bed so that he can rest.”

“He can rest back at the compound,” Jason argued, “We’ve been away too long, and we need to make sure that Zoey and the others are still safe.”

“Is Sammie still kickin’?” Sally asked.

“She was when we left,” Beth answered, “Jay, I agree with checking on things back at base, but we can do a split trip.”

“What are you getting at?” Jason frowned, “We don’t need to waste any more time than we already have in this shit hole. In case you haven’t noticed, most of us are in shit shape as is, and things don’t exactly go well when we split up.”

“Which is why we should comb this place for supplies while we can,” Pam said, “Despite everything that I hate about this place, there are several things that we can use. We don’t know how long this war is going to drag on, but we do know that we’re going to need everything we can get our hands on.”

“Ugh, dammit,” Jason grunted, “You’re right, you’re right. Fine, we do a sweep and gather what we can carry. We eliminate any of the staff left behind, any of her sick toys, and grab what we can. That means notes, medicine, tools, I don’t give a shit as long as we can make use of it. Happy now, Thompson?”

“Yeah, let’s stash Jake in one of the rooms while we work,” Beth said, “So, uhm, what happened down here?”

“We fought and won, of course,” Sadie chuckled, following behind them as they turned to leave the theater, “After that Havoc knock-off gave up and decided to chase after you four, we focused on the army around us. It was going well enough, but there’s only so much ammo. It was only a matter of time before the guns I brought ran dry. Now, not long after the reject fled to deal with you all, these mindless little things seemed to grow a few brain cells. Their attack pattern went from being erratic at best to far more deliberate and precise. They stopped moving like a mob and started fighting like a kill squad; fighting almost as though they were sharing a mind. They nearly overwhelmed us. However, by the time things started to look bleak, some sort of shockwave erupted from the observatory.”

“Our best guess was that was when you guys managed to snuff Murray out,” Kait chimed in as they walked back through the doors and into the halls, “It was like an EMP went off. The lights went out for a second before the emergency power kicked on, but all of them started to convulse at once like their minds had been burned from the inside out. One by one they fell to the ground. Not long after that, you four came back down and here we are. What happened up there?”

“Murray was…in some sort of chair thing,” Beth tried to explain, “I don’t know what she was doing, but it was like she was plugged into everything. Do you think it’s possible that she could have somehow, I don’t know, taken control of them?”

“Stranger things have happened,” Jason shrugged, “We’ve got two people that died fighting with us, three counting me, two people that have traveled across dimensions, time, and space, and we’ve got a pair of sisters that ran a shadow cult and staged a corporate coup. Mass mind control doesn’t seem too far-fetched to me. Now, how she would have done it is something I can’t say.”

“Hmm, you said she was connected to a chair, right?” Sadie asked, stepping over debris, ash, and embers.

“Yeah, it had tubes and wires and all kinds of shit sticking out of her,” Beth replied.

“I once did a job in South America for a shell corp that wanted to try to seize control of a small town’s population,” Sadie mused, “They hired me to provide security for their scientists while they worked. The scientists had an idea that they could connect an individual to a single station and let them remote control the systems and electronics. This would include any receivers that someone had on them. The project was eventually scrapped because of budget and ethical constraints. The idea was that they would plant surgeons in the local hospitals to install devices into people anytime they went in for a procedure. The scope of the project was too big and too messy for the company to pursue, but the documents were still out there.”

“Just waiting for somebody like Eva to find them and pick them up,” Jason shook his head, “That’s exactly the type of shit that they’d have an interest in. You didn’t burn the project to the ground?”

“If I did then who would have paid me?” Sadie asked, “I’m not a hero, Graves, I’m a soldier of fortune. At the end of the day, my pay is what’s important.”

“Loyalty for sale,” Jason scoffed, “And I’m supposed to be comfortable working alongside you?”

“I could care less about how comfortable you are,” Sadie replied, “Whatever you might think, I still have something of a code. Yes, my pay is what’s most important, but I have standards. The board scrapped the project, why would I have given a shit if they didn’t scrub their servers and purge their files? The check cleared, the project was scrapped, and that was the end of it. Now, if you have such a problem working alongside me, you can always hand over the guns.”

“Alright, alright, cool it,” Sally sighed, “I think we can all agree that our backgrounds don’t exactly gel together. Fuck’s sake, most of us have tried to kill each other half a dozen times; some more than that. Let’s keep this shit civil.”

“I’m not the one who’s starting shit, now am I?” Sadie said.

“This is going to be fun, I can already tell,” Beth mumbled, “Can’t wait to get back and listen to these two bicker.”

“We can spend some time alone when we get back,” Pam offered, “Once I get rested and have this poison out of my system, I promise to make sure that you won’t be able to think straight. Let alone think about Jason arguing with Sadie and the others.”

Beth’s cheeks turned scarlet at Pam’s promise. The weight of Jake’s body in her arms kept her from fumbling and stumbling over her words. It was something to look forward to. She put it in the back of her mind and focused on finding a room with a bed for Jake. She glanced back at Rebecca who had been unusually quiet throughout their reunion. It wasn’t like the typically pretentious woman to keep her thoughts to herself and mouth shut. Yet again, it was another indicator that she wasn’t the same woman that Beth had come to know and despise. She still had her faults, but there was something different about her that Beth was struggling to pinpoint.

It didn’t take them long to find a room and a bed to store Jake in. They tucked him away in a corner in the dark and pulled a screen around him in an attempt to keep him out of sight. They hadn’t seen any of the staff or projects wandering the halls, but they all agreed it was better to be safe than sorry. Once he was secure, they split up and started combing through the halls and rooms one by one. While there were likely a plethora of medicines and supplies on the lower levels, they all agreed to stick to the uppermost floor. None of them wanted to stay any longer than they had to.

The group split up and spent half an hour searching through every nook and cranny they could find. Cabinets, cells, rooms, desks, and more were opened and poured through. In the end, they walked away with various pill bottles, syringes, and as much equipment they could carry and fill Sadie’s bag with. They managed to collect enough supplies, gauze, bandages, and more for them to keep everyone together and in fighting shape for a month, maybe longer. It was tough to gauge how long they’d be able to stretch their supplies, but between Rebecca and Pam’s magic and what they’d managed to gather, Jason felt confident they’d be able to make it last as long as they had to.

The group rendezvoused back in the hall near Jake’s room to assess their haul. “See, I told you this would be worthwhile,” Beth said, nodding at the bag.

“I can’t argue,” Jason admitted as he looked over the supplies, “There’s next to no one wandering the halls too. Either you guys managed to wipe out the resistance, or they scrambled and fled when the power went out. Whatever the case, this went smoother than I could have hoped. Are we finally ready to go?”

“Where are we going?” Addy asked.

“Eclipse,” Pam answered, “We managed to take the club back and turn it into a makeshift base of operations. Jake had been slowly shipping supplies over to the club, and Samantha was stashing weapons there after she was abducted.”

“We’ve got rooms, beds, and all the major things we need to survive,” Jason further explained, “It ain’t perfect, but it’s safe and well defended. Turns out, a BDSM can make for a decent bunker in a pinch. Someone wanna grab Blackridge so we can get out of here?”

Rebecca looked to Beth in a silent plea. It was a rare moment of understanding between the two women; another strange first for them. “Why don’t you guys go ahead and head back,” Beth said, “Pam and I can hang back and do a final sweep.”

“For what?” Kait asked, “We’ve gotten everything that we could use.”

“Documnets, files, maybe there’s some kind of clue to what their next move might be,” Beth replied, “We didn’t have time to look around between being chased and hunted.”

“Beth, I’m not one to go against you, but I’m ready to get the fuck out of this place,” Sally sighed, “I’m pretty sure that Addy, Kait, and Jay all agree.”

“I can take you all back to Eclipse,” Rebecca said, “It will be easier for me to split the trip. I can clean up and recover, and then I can come back to retrieve Jake, Elizabeth, and Pamela.”

“Again, splitting up never ends well for us,” Jason sighed.

“We’ll be fine,” Pam assured him, “You all go on ahead, and we’ll be behind shortly. Give us an hour, and we can likely have a decent haul to help us gain an advantage against Eva.”

“Fine, whatever,” Jason lamented after a moment of sullen silence, “You got one hour. Do not fuck around here. I don’t trust this damn place.”

“They will be fine,” Rebecca assured them, “If the rest of you will gather around me, we can take our leave. We can leave this place behind, and you all can get cleaned up and start settling in.”

“Can’t believe I’m listening to the Goth Goddess,” Sally scoffed as she walked over to stand beside her.

“Strange times indeed,” Addy mumbled, taking Kait’s hand and leading her over to the Rebecca.

“I could care less as long as we get somewhere safe,” Kait admitted, “Come on, Jason, let’s get going. I expect to see the rest of you back in an hour, maybe sooner.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll be there,” Beth said.

Rebecca locked eyes with Beth as she opened a portal at their feet. She mouthed a thank you to her in a show of genuine appreciation and respect. The group fell into the darkness around them and were swallowed up leaving only Pam and Beth standing in the empty halls. “Care to explain what that was about?” Pam asked once Rebecca was gone.

“Long story short, she doesn’t want Jake to see her covered in gore,” Beth replied, “I could care less whether they wind up together or not, but the least I figured I could give her the time she needs to get cleaned up. Besides, we could still find something here. Maybe there’s something that could tell us more about whatever the hell that weird chair thing was.”

“Or project Desire,” Pam pointed out, earning a confused look from Beth, “One of the nurses mentioned it. I don’t know what it is, but it can’t be good. Let’s go see what we can-”

A sudden whistle cut through the silence. A single, drawn out tone followed by a higher pitch echoed around them. It stopped only to be followed by another seconds later. Beth went for her pistols, but a sudden crack of a whip wrapping around her ankles and pulling her back caused her to come crashing to the ground. Pam looked down at her girlfriend who was being dragged back down the hall. She tried to reach down and grab her hand to stop her, but she was stopped by an arm wrapping around her neck and pulling her back. A pungent stench of body odor and sweat slammed into her nostrils as she was pulled into the armpit of an unknown woman.

Whoever had managed to grab her was slender, strong, and had clearly not showered recently. Pam tried to fight back against whoever it was, but they continued to hold her tight. She was too weak to fight her off. The smell of sweat and filth was overpowering, and her air was getting thinner by the second. It had been a long time since she’d been smothered into unconsciousness, but that was precisely what was happening. The world faded to black as her body went limp.

“Pam!” Beth screamed, having seen the black and white striped socks and hightop converse in the distance, “Let her go!”

Beth finally stopped and tried to scramble to get to one of her knives, her gun, or anything to break free. Before she could get to any of her weapons, a large booted foot pressed down on her chest. It knocked the wind out of her, and she stared up at a familiar and sadistic looking redhead. She looked up past the thick leg covered by a pinstripe black and white pair of suitpants, beyond a protruding belly covered by a black vest, and the cruel smile of Amelia Ritters.

“What a pleasant surprise,” Amelia chuckled, grinding her heel on Beth’s chest, “I told you girls that we would find something worthwhile here. This is sure to get us back into Eva’s good graces.”

“Amelia, you bi-mph!” Beth started to shout, but was silenced by a disgusting sock being shoved in her mouth.

Beth looked over to see Hannah kneeling beside her with one bare foot and one socked foot. One of Alexis’ psychotic proteges that had turned to join with Amelia had just crammed her dirty sock into her mouth. “Oh, Beth, Beth, Beth,” Amelia chuckled, “The fun that we would have together if you weren’t already promised. Sadly, I’ll have to settle for your girlfriend. Butt…that doesn’t mean we can’t have a parting moment. Hannah, step aside.”

Beth glared at Amelia as Hannah smirked and stood up. Amelia stepped over Beth and stood over her head. Her bulbous backside hovered overhead, and Beth’s stomach dropped as she realized what was happening. She jerked to the side, but Hannah’s hands held her shoulders down. There was nothing she could do to get away. Amelia dropped down without warning and crashed her meaty backside onto Beth’s face. The resounding impact was crushing and painful, but the grinding that followed was worse. It was humiliating and nauseating. The stench of stale farts and sweat clung to her pants, and each subsequent grind drove Beth’s face deeper into her crack.

The sickening stench was more than she could handle, but the lack of air was worse. Amelia never made a move to get up or give her any air. It didn’t take long for things to fade to black, but it felt like an eternity. Her lungs burned, her nose ached, and her heart sank. She was trapped in the ass of one of her most despicable enemies. Her last thoughts were what she might have meant by promised to someone, and what sort of hell they had planned for Pam. She could hear Amelia chuckling as she passed, and Beth could only hope that they wouldn’t discover Jake’s body in the other room.

“Come along, girls,” Amelia smiled as she felt Beth finally submit, “Riley, Nyx, grab our newest addition. Hannah, be a dear and grab this one. We’ve got business to attend to with our partners.”

“On it, boss,” Riley grinned, grabbing Pam with Nyx’s help.

As the group of sadistic dommes made their way out of the asylum, they never checked for Jake’s body. He was left sleeping soundly in the room nearby unaware of the dangers that lurked around him, their short-lived victory, or the fact that his two best friends had been taken by their enemies. The sound of Amelia Ritters cackling in triumph could be heard in the distance, but Jake slept soundly through it all.

The asylum had fallen silent again as Amelia and her gang of harlots left. The inmates had been released when Anna had been slain. The locks and security systems were finished. However, all was not dead and gone. Upstairs within the office where Murray had been initiating Project Eternity, a tablet flickered and flashed to life. It had been in Emily’s lab coat at the time of her death. On its screen was a progress bar and two words:
