Short
Captain Torres hustled a disheveled Kaylah down the dimly lit corridor, her body a canvas of filth— her cellmate’s dried semen forming an invisible crust on her face, stomach, and breasts, a brittle residue of infidelity. “Why couldn’t I shower first?” she asked, voice quaking, her embarrassment and disgust bitter bile difficult to swallow.
Torres’s menacing grin gleamed in the shadows. “Your recent activities with your cellmate aren’t visible and your husband need not know about them,” he replied, his flawless English tinged with a faint Spanish accent, chilling her further with its cold precision.
He paused before the door, turning to her with deliberate calm. “Your cooperation has ensured the safety of your husband, Señora Jordan. But if you mention your cellmate or the drugs we’ve been giving you, it will ignite unnecessary tensions—and your husband will suffer severe consequences for your disobedience.”
“You mean anything about the pervert you’ve jailed me with and how you’ve been shooting me up with cocaine and fentanyl, turning me into an addict, letting that vile, depraved Black thug violate me?” Kaylah spat, venom and shame scorching her words. “You imprisoned me with him, goaded him with disgusting lingerie you force me to wear—turned me into a junkie and his whore. Now you’re threatening my husband? What concern is it of yours if I tell him what you've done to me? You’ve ruined our lives.”
Torres fixed her with a steely gaze, his voice low and measured. “Mrs. Jordan, let me be clear. Nothing will change the future I have planned for you. However, if you wish to keep your husband safe, lie—tell him how well we’re treating you. Claim that faint bruise on your face came from slipping in the shower. Otherwise, I will immediately hand Mr. Jordan over to Lopez, where he will meet slow torture and death.
“What purpose will it serve for Mr. Jordan to know of your cellmate or the drugs we are giving to you anyway? It will emotionally shatter him, picturing you high with another man’s hands all over you, performing intimate acts with you that he is powerless to stop. Can you fathom your poor husband’s torment before his brutal death? His jealousy will conjure vile, exaggerated scenes— perhaps worse than reality. Sparing him the truth is a mercy.”
Torres’s stark warning hung heavy as he guided her into the room.
Steve sat at a metal table, orange uniform mirroring her own, hands cuffed, eyes anxious. Kaylah felt the grime of her cellmate—but had difficulty remembering clearly, her memory since imprisonment fragmented and distorted through a drugged haze.
She looked at Steve but couldn’t stop seeing her cellmate’s huge Black penis jettisoning ropes of cum on her— guiltily recalling the disoriented warmth the drugs made her feel while he molested and raped her. At least three times that morning, her cellmate ejaculated with her, some of his semen still oozing from her vagina, drenching the skimpy thong Torres made her wear. Kaylah’s skin crawled, dread spiking at the thought of a wet stain forming between her legs, and Steve possibly discovering the infidelity. The orange top she wore hopefully hung low enough to conceal any evidence.
She shifted, thighs clamped tight to hold in the slimy mix of her cellmate’s semen with her own vaginal secretions. Crusty remnants of his ejaculate clung to her body, his taste from giving him oral sex lingering in her mouth. Avoiding Steve’s gaze, shame and humiliation choked her. She could not reconcile how something so evil and abhorrent, had felt good and made her orgasm. Once pure, she had been turned into a drug addict and a whore.
“Kaylah, what happened to your face? It looks like it was bruised. Are you okay? What did Torres do to you?” Steve asked, concern etching his voice over the faint yellow mark on his wife’s cheek, the remnant left by her cellmate weeks ago before drugs pacified her.
She noticed a fresh bruise that had bloomed around Steve’s right eye, mirroring her own older injury. Torres’s warning echoed in her mind—the truth would gut Steve. She inhaled sharply, dodging his look. “Just a clumsy accident,” she whispered, her glassy eyes staring down at the table. “Torres hasn’t done anything to me. He's keeping me safe in the female section. I just slipped in the shower and hit my face. What happened to your eye, Steve?”
Steve’s brows furrowed. “A guard ‘introduced’ himself to me. I’m starting to doubt Torres and his men are real authorities—maybe they’re drug traffickers themselves.”
Her heart thudded, dread rising. Steve didn’t know about Torres’s cartel ties, his iron grip over this prison and town, how he was drugging her, keeping her locked in a small isolated cell with a young Black man and only a solitary bed to share, the unavoidable occurring.
“Oh no, are you okay?” she asked, guilt lacing her voice.
“The Captain stopped it—said something in Spanish about ‘cooperation’, I think,” Steve replied, fear trembling in his tone.
Relief washed over her, tinged with terror at Torres’s ruthlessness. “What are we going to do? Have you reached the Consulate?”
Despair shadowed Steve’s face. “No, Torres hasn’t let me use a phone. You?”
“Same. I’ve been locked in a small cell…” she trailed off, fear of revealing too much stifling her from saying more. “We’ve got to escape this nightmare, Steve. Torres isn’t human—he’s a demon. What police lock up innocent people like this on false charges?”
Comprehending far more than her ignorant husband, tears spilled from Kaylah Jordan's eyes, her cuffed hands hiding them, the metal biting her wrists—a reminder of her imprisonment. She began to fear the worse as she sobered more— that she would ultimately be trafficked, and Steve killed.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll ask Torres for a call again. We’ve been here over three weeks—they have to free us soon,” Steve soothed.
Three weeks—for more than 21 days she had been kept in a drugged stupor by Torres until now. Kaylah had no idea it had been that long, her shame and self-loathing surging over the unknowable number of times she had unprotected intercourse with a Black hoodlum, her ‘jail husband’ betraying her true husband. “Why isn’t anyone looking for us?” she sobbed.
Torres watched, noting the conversation become increasingly emotional for Kaylah, her withdrawal symptoms becoming more evident, stepping in before she cracked. “That’s enough. Say goodbye. It’s time to go back to your cells.”
Kaylah swiped at her tears, eyes swollen, love for Steve aching beneath her infidelity he knew nothing about— cocaine and fentanyl clearing from her veins, her Black cellmate’s semen swimming in her womb, seeking out her precious eggs to fertilize.
“P-please, just a little longer?” she begged, voice fragile, clinging to a fleeting hope.
Her pleas went ignored as Torres shackled Steve to the table and dragged her away, past empty cells and one holding Luis Ramirez—a hulking, bald Black man, older than Reggie, menace radiating from him. Steel doors slammed, sealing her fate as they approached the lone, distant cell, the one she shared with that young Black thug who kept molesting and raping her. “Please,” she whimpered, but Torres was stone.
“Hush now, Señora. Your young, Black cellmate eagerly awaits your return, with yet another erection that rivals that of a stallion. He’s displeased you’ve seen your former husband again.”
Her stomach churned at being drugged and returned to Reggie’s twisted desires. “He’s been violating me—don’t make me go back,” she pleaded, tears streaming.
In a shadowed corner, Torres pinned her, his breath hot against her ear. “I’ve seen you together—I’ve watched how you now take his massive Black penis, reluctance merely a mask on your face, your body moving with him, riding him in rhythm.”
Kaylah’s sober shame burned—her memories while drugged only scattered fragments, but enough—Reggie’s enormous girth and length stretching her, filling her, the slick sounds from her forced union with him, humiliating sensations, the inescapable euphoria pumped into her veins, responses from her body she couldn’t stop. “You’ve been watching us? How sick are you?” she gasped, horror welling. “You’ve been drugging me and watching him molest and rape me.”
“I understand your difficulty, Señora. But you must accept your new role and return to him.”
“My new role? What do you mean? No, p-please! I can’t!” she protested, but Torres was unmoved. With each step, her heart sank deeper, her cellmate’s leering eyes and touch a sick flood in her mind, dread pooling like tar inside her chest.
“I love my husband, and I haven’t had my birth control,” she confessed, dread lacing her voice. “I can’t become pregnant!”
“Three weeks off, hmm? Afraid of making a baby with your cellmate? Imagine the explanations,” Torres mocked, eyes gleaming. “You, a respectable Christian woman married to a white man and giving birth to a Black child. If it’s a boy, I wonder if it’ll have a huge penis like its father, always reminding you of the one who turned you into a whore.”
“Do you have condoms I can use?” she forced out, desperate.
“None here—we’re not like your soft country,” he sneered, eyeing the small cross still hanging on her necklace. “Have your cellmate pull out—I won’t lessen the intimacy you experience with him. You must become use to it.”
Torres’s insinuation sickened her. “Can you let me have my birth control pills back? Please— they were in my purse.”
“You could always sign a confession. I might be inclined then to allow you to stay with your husband a while, and perhaps even seek leniency from the magistrate.”
“There were no drugs—don’t send me back to Reggie,” she begged.
“There were drugs in your vehicle and a simple test will confirm that you’re lying and have been using them.
“Did you see the inmate we just passed—Luis Ramirez? He has been with us before and favors young men—like your husband, who might join him if space runs short,” Torres mused, his cold smile chilling her. “Some men discover they prefer other men when forced into homosexual relationships in prison,” he added. “It’s something that naturally happens. Men need companionship, and in the absence of a woman…”
Steve sodomized was her worst nightmare. How did they end up in this living Hell?
“If I confess, will you stop giving me drugs, move me back with Steve, and keep us safe?” she asked, now trembling as her withdrawal grew stronger.
“Yes, I will,” Torres promised, lips twisting slyly. He veered her toward his office, where incriminating documents awaited her signature that would give him additional leverage over Kaylah and her husband.
