Chapter 8 of 8
Mark’s heart hammered as the SUV pulled into the downtown hub. The confirmation email still promised premium: guillotine with erotic release. But resentment had been building all night, bitter, searing resentment toward Harley for her cold indifference, toward Alicia for orchestrating every humiliation, toward Jamal and Tyrone for so casually taking his place in his own home. Most of all, toward himself for ever letting it get this far.
He didn’t want this. He wanted to change everything, go back, fight harder, refuse to sign, anything but end up here.
As they parked, he opened his mouth to beg. “Harley, wait—I’ve changed my mind. Please, let’s just—”
Alicia was already out of the car, whispering to the attendant and slipping him cash. The group steered him not toward the gleaming main truck, but to the shifty side unit—faded paint, no banners, just the handwritten “CLASSIC PROCESSING” sign taped crookedly to the door.
“Downgrade approved,” the attendant announced with a grin. “Red-flag budget classic. No premium for reluctant ones.”
Mark’s panic spiked. “No! Harley, this isn’t what we agreed! I don’t want—”
Harley cut him off with a tired sigh. “Baby, you had your chance to embrace it willingly. Alicia’s right—this is more appropriate now.”
Jamal and Tyrone gripped his arms firmly, marching him up the metal steps into the cramped, harshly lit interior. The air smelled of plastic and bleach. No soft recliner, no erotic suite—just a holding bench and a heavy side door labeled “GROUP PROCESSING – RED FLAGS ONLY.”
Inside the side room, five other white men were already waiting: naked, wrists and ankles zip-tied, kneeling in a loose semicircle on the cold concrete floor. Some trembled visibly, others stared blankly at the wall—clearly all forced, all red-flagged by wives, girlfriends, sisters, coworkers. One had fresh bruises. Another had “PROBLEMATIC” scrawled across his chest in black marker. Muffled whimpers leaked through their gags.
Mark struggled harder. “Mmmph—no!” But Jamal shoved him down among them.
“Severe gag first,” Alicia instructed from the doorway, peering in with detached curiosity. “He’s always been a whiner.”
The attendant tore off a long strip of wide silver duct tape. A thick, oily shop rag was wadded and forced deep into Mark’s mouth until his cheeks bulged grotesquely. Then the wrapping began—layer after merciless layer of tape wound tightly around his head, sealing the rag in place, muffling him completely. His jaws ached instantly; breathing became a labored whistle through his nose.
Resentment burned hotter than ever behind his eyes. I hate you all. This isn’t fair. I could still change—I’d accept it all if you’d just stop!
Harley watched impassively as the attendants finished the gag, then turned to Alicia. “Looks good. Ready for brunch?”
“Absolutely,” Alicia replied. “No need to stick around for this part. It’s just cleanup.”
The women left without another glance. Jamal and Tyrone followed, chuckling about lunch plans. The door slammed shut, locked from outside.
The attendants shook out six individual heavy-duty clear plastic bags—thick, transparent contractor bags, the kind meant for demolition debris.
One by one, starting with the man on the end, an attendant grabbed a handful of hair, yanked the head back, and pulled a bag down over the face like a hood. The plastic was stretched tight, then sealed at the neck with a heavy zip tie—snug enough to hold, loose enough to allow slow, agonizing depletion of air.
Each victim got his own separate bag. No sharing, no linking. Just isolated, personal suffocation.
The room filled with the crinkle and rustle of plastic, the desperate nasal snorts and muffled grunts of six men suddenly trapped in their private, fogging prisons.
Mark was fourth in line.
The attendant gripped his hair roughly, forcing his taped head back. The bag descended—cool, slippery plastic sliding over his face, clinging instantly to his skin. Darkness through a translucent haze. The zip tie snapped tight at his throat. Immediately the air grew thick, recycled, tasting of his own panic.
He thrashed, rocking side to side on his knees, but the zip ties held his wrists and ankles firm. The bag inflated slightly with each frantic exhale, then collapsed inward as he sucked it back, clinging to nose and mouth like a second skin.
Around him, the others fared no better. Bags fogged opaque. Bodies jerked and swayed. One man toppled sideways early, legs kicking weakly. Another tried to rub the bag off against the floor, only smearing condensation.
Mark’s mind raced with furious, silent rage. I didn’t deserve this. I was going to be better. Harley, come back! Let me prove I can change!
His lungs burned. Vision tunneled. The plastic sucked in tighter, molding to every contour of his gagged face.
One by one, the movements slowed. Bodies slumped forward or sideways, held upright only by the cluster of kneeling forms leaning against each other.
Mark lasted nearly to the end—resentment and denial fueling his fight longer than most. But eventually his chest heaved one final, useless time. The bag collapsed fully inward and stayed there.
The attendants returned twenty minutes later, checked pulses out of habit, then dragged the six limp, individually bagged bodies out the back door to a waiting bin.
No livestream. No applause. No final words recorded.
Just routine red-flag disposal, six separate clear bags, each containing one corrected stale pale male, loaded anonymously for incineration.
Outside, Harley laughed over mimosas with Alicia, already scrolling dating apps featuring verified Black bulls.
“He probably thinks we’re still watching,” Alicia teased.
Harley shrugged, smiling. “Let him. It’s over. Time for the new order.”
