Chapter 21

Over the next few weeks, a new, settled rhythm emerged in Mildred's household. Victoria was given more and more opportunities to help build Mildred's burgeoning portfolio of adult-themed businesses. Each morning began with her rigorous workout in the basement gym, the rhythmic whir of the treadmill and the clang of the weights a familiar, comforting sound. She kept up her fitness routine with a discipline that was now second nature, and her body reflected it. She was no longer the soft, doughy creature Mildred had first taken in, nor the lean, muscular animal from Sandra's farm. She was a synthesis of both, a powerful, healthy woman with a fuller, more womanly figure that radiated strength and vitality. She was, in Mildred's eyes, a much better version of herself.

Mildred was very pleased with how things were going between her and her pet. The dynamic had settled into a comfortable, if unorthodox, routine. Victoria spent many nights in Mildred's bed, their bodies entwined in a complex dance of power and passion. But sometimes, when Mildred had other guests, Victoria would be relegated to the cage at the end of the bed. She would lie there, a silent observer, listening to the soft whispers and muffled moans of Mildred and her friends, the sounds of their pleasure a strange, lulling lullaby. It was a humiliation, but a familiar one, and in its own way, a comfort. It was a reminder of her place, of the unshakable order of her world.

Then one day, a single folder sat on Victoria's desk. The manacle was no longer needed; Mildred had deemed her trustworthy enough to work without it. But Victoria had grown accustomed to its comforting weight. She felt more focused, more secure when it was locked around her ankle. So every time she sat at the desk, she chose to lock it herself, a small, ritualistic act of self-submission. She did it partly because she loved the feeling of Mildred's fingers on her skin, the soft, approving "Good girl" Mildred would whisper as she unlocked it at the end of the day.

She opened the folder, and a sharp gasp escaped her lips. She instantly recognized the business logo on the cover page. She recognized the address. It was her old business. The company she had built from the ground up, the one she had run with ruthless efficiency. Mildred's company had just acquired it.

A slow, triumphant smile spread across her face as she studied the financial data from the past few months. The numbers had plunged catastrophically. She saw the reasons right away, her old CEO's mind kicking into gear with a vengeance. They had diversified too quickly, stretched their budget to the breaking point, and chased risky ventures in a desperate attempt to fill the void she had left. When one major deal fell through, the rest of their fragile empire had tumbled like dominoes. It was a classic, amateurish mistake. A mistake she would never have made.

She took a fresh sheet of paper and began to write, her pen flying across the page. She drafted a proposal, a rescue plan, a way to strip the company down to its profitable core and rebuild it from the ground up, stronger and smarter than before. As she wrote, her mind drifted back, not to her time with Richard and Akiko, but to the woman she used to be. The sharp, ambitious, formidable woman who had taken on the world and won. She thought about what she had let them turn her into, a broken, pathetic slave. But as she looked at the numbers, at the failure of her old company without her, a strange sense of clarity washed over her. She hadn't just been broken; she had been refined. Her old self, the ruthless CEO, was still in there, but now she was tempered with a new, unshakable discipline, a deep understanding of power, and a profound, unyielding loyalty to her new Mistress.

Mildred came in later to check on her progress. She read through Victoria's proposal, her eyes scanning the pages with a growing look of admiration. "Excellent," she said, her voice thick with pride. "Truly excellent." She unlocked the manacle from Victoria's ankle, her touch lingering. "Tonight," she said, her voice dropping to a more serious tone, "you and I and some other shareholders are meeting to finalize the deal. I want you there."

Victoria blushed, a wave of heat rising to her cheeks. She had never been invited before. She knew they had used her ideas, and Mildred had passed on their gratitude, but this was something else. This was an invitation into the inner sanctum, into the world of power and decision-making. This was a recognition of her true value. And as she looked at Mildred, she knew, with a certainty that made her heart soar, that she was no longer just a pet. She was a partner.

The rest of the afternoon was charged with a quiet, electric tension. It was not a tension of fear, but of anticipation, of a new chapter beginning. Mildred led Victoria to the master bathroom, a space that now felt like a shared sanctuary. The air was warm and steamy, the scent of sandalwood and roses filling the room.

"Tonight is a special night," Mildred said, her voice soft but firm. She gestured to the large, sunken tub. "Prepare yourself. I want you to be immaculate."

Victoria bathed, the hot, fragrant water a luxurious caress. She scrubbed her skin until it glowed, her movements methodical and precise. When she was done, she stood before Mildred, her body a testament to her transformation, water droplets glistening on her tanned skin like tiny jewels.

She dressed Victoria in a simple, elegant, floor-length black gown, a silk sheath that clung to her curves. Then she dressed herself in a sharp, tailored pantsuit, her look one of pure, unadulterated power

Mildred approached Victoria, holding a velvet-lined box. She opened it, and inside, nestled on a bed of black silk, was a new collar. It was not like the old one. This was not a tool of punishment, but a statement of ownership. It was made of heavy, gleaming gold, wide and substantial, with a single, large ring at the front. Beside it lay a pair of matching, wide wrist manacles, also of gold, hinged and designed to lock securely.

"Kneel," Mildred commanded.

Victoria knelt, her head bowed. Mildred lifted the heavy collar and placed it around Victoria's neck. It was cool and heavy, a solid, undeniable weight. She closed it, and the lock clicked home with a soft, definitive sound. Then, she took the manacles. "Hands behind your back," she said.

Victoria complied, and Mildred locked each manacle around her wrists, binding her hands behind her. Finally, she took out a matching golden leash, a thin but strong chain, and clipped it to the ring on the collar. She stepped back and admired her work. "Perfect," she breathed. "

A sleek, black limousine was waiting for them in the driveway. The driver, a man in a crisp uniform, didn't even blink as Mildred led Victoria out of the house, her hands manacled behind her back, the golden leash held firmly in her Mistress's hand. He simply opened the door and stood respectfully to the side.

They sat silently in the back of the limo, the plush leather a cocoon of luxury. For the thirty-minute drive to Canterbury, neither of them spoke. There was no need. The silence was comfortable, charged with unspoken understanding. Mildred's hand rested high on Victoria's thigh, her leather-clad fingers gently squeezing, a possessive, reassuring gesture that sent a warm thrill through Victoria's body. She was not just a slave; she was a treasure being escorted to her unveiling.

As they left the main road and turned down a private lane, Victoria's breath caught in her throat. They pulled into the grounds of a newly refurbished manor house in Denton, near Canterbury. It was a magnificent, sprawling building of golden stone, its windows glowing in the twilight light, surrounded by perfectly manicured lawns and ancient, sprawling trees. It was the epitome of old money and new power, a statement of absolute success. Victoria was in awe. She had once run a business, but this was a different world entirely. This was the world she was now a part of. And as Mildred clipped on the leash and helped her from the car, she felt not fear, but a surge of pride. She was not just attending the meeting. She was a part of the main event.
