Chapter 20 of 24

A month earlier...

A month earlier.

Roger served Eleanor breakfast on her balcony, as he did every morning. The view was spectacular, a panorama of London's skyline that Eleanor barely acknowledged. She ignored him, as was her custom, her gaze fixed on the distant horizon, a queen surveying a kingdom she had already conquered. Roger knew his place. He knelt on the cool stone tiles, his movements silent and practised. His uniform was a masterpiece of humiliation: tight, restrictive black shorts that left nothing to the imagination and chafed with every movement, a thick leather collar that was a constant reminder of his ownership, and matching leather cuffs on his wrists and ankles. These weren't just for show; they were a modular system designed for quick, easy connection to any piece of equipment in her growing collection of disciplinary furniture. He was a tool, and this was his storage configuration.

It was while she was scrolling through her tablet, ignoring the perfectly poached eggs he had prepared, that she found it. An advert for a rental property in Chatham. A familiar address. Chloe's old house. It was empty, advertising for new tenants. A slow, dangerous smile spread across Eleanor's face. The burning hole in her mind, the void where her rage at Linda and Clara smouldered, suddenly had a focal point. A plan, forged in the fires of her humiliation and vengeance, began to take shape in her head.

She put the tablet down, her appetite for food replaced by a more primal hunger. She spread her legs, the silk robe falling open. "Roger," she said, her voice soft and commanding. "Pleasure me."

He shuffled forward on his knees, his head bowed. He knew what was required. For the next hour, he used his mouth with the desperate, practised skill of a man trying to postpone punishment. He worked to please her, his tongue and lips moving with a frantic, tired devotion. But she was distant, her mind clearly elsewhere. When she finally shuddered with a small, perfunctory climax, she pushed him away. He looked up at her, his eyes pleading.

"Mistress," he begged, his voice a hoarse whisper. "Please... might I be released?"

Eleanor stood up and laughed, a low, throaty sound that was utterly devoid of mirth. "Released? My dear, silly boy, you are free. You are free to serve me." She looked down at him, her eyes cold and calculating. "However, I do have a job for you. A very important job. If you succeed... I might consider it."

It was a complete fiction, a delicious cruelty she savoured. He would do whatever she ordered, driven by the desperate, flickering flame of hope she refused to extinguish, but he would never be released. He was hers forever.

She enjoyed humiliating him, finding new and inventive ways to remind him of his place. First, she made him hold his breakfast plate on his shaved head while she ate from it, the threat of a scalding mess keeping his hands trembling. Second, she made him bark for his water, which she lapped from a bowl on the floor, her laughter echoing around him. Third, as a final prelude to his task, she made him stand and recite his new identity. "I am not Roger Thompson," he was forced to say, his voice cracking. "I am a worthless object. I am Mistress Eleanor's property."

When she was satisfied with his degradation, she handed him her phone. "Call the number on that advert," she commanded. "Arrange a viewing. Tell them you're a divorced businessman from London looking for a quiet place to live." She watched as he dialled, his hands shaking, his voice a pathetic imitation of confidence as he made the appointment. The first piece of her revenge was now in motion.
