Chapter 16

The drive back to her apartment was a blur of streetlights and internal screaming. Katherine’s body was a roadmap of pain. The deep, throbbing ache in her bowels was a constant, ignominious reminder of Karl’s brutal conquest. Every bump in the road sent a fresh jolt of agony that made her whimper. But it was the other pain, the one in her soul, that was truly destroying her. Each time she blinked, she saw Karl’s handsome, cruel face twisted in a laugh as he ripped her apart. She tasted the filth she had been forced to clean from his body, a shame that was now a permanent part of her. When she finally stumbled through her front door, she didn't make it to the bedroom. She collapsed on the sofa, fully clothed, and sobbed until she was empty, until her throat was raw. She fell into a dreamless, exhausted sleep, a used-up thing.

The burner phone’s incessant buzzing was her new alarm clock. Katherine’s eyes fluttered open, the morning light a cruel intrusion. Every muscle protested as she sat up. She felt the phantom weight of Karl on her, the phantom stretch of her body beyond its limits. The message was simple. "Today. 11 a.m. Jameson Estate. Ask for Helen." No "little piggy," no playful menace. Just a command. And that was more terrifying than any threat.

She stood under the shower, the hot water doing nothing to wash away the feeling of being permanently stained. Her hands mapped the bruises-purple blossoms on her hips and thighs. Her fingers traced the red ring abraded around her anus, and a fresh wave of shame and humiliation washed over her, so potent it almost made her sick. But it was followed by the treacherous flicker of dark heat, the unwelcome memory of her body's traitorous response to the violation. She dressed in a simple, practical sheath dress, the soft fabric a lie against her wounded skin. She left the red collar Karl had given her on her bedside table, next to the plain, heavy one Jamie had first used. They looked like a pair of lovers'.

The Jameson Estate was not a house; it was a statement. A sprawling, modernist palace of glass and stark white concrete, surrounded by meticulously landscaped grounds that felt less like a garden and more like a fortress. A woman in a sharp maid's uniform—not the rubber-clad Jamie, but a live-in staff member—let her in and directed her to a sun-drenched conservatory at the back of the house. Helen Jameson was there, seated in a wicker chair, looking every bit the relaxed matriarch. She wore flowing silk trousers and a matching blouse, her strawberry-blonde hair loose around her shoulders. She could have been a wealthy philanthropist posing for a magazine spread.

"Katherine," she said, her voice calm, almost warm. "Come in. Sit."

Katherine sat, perched on the edge of a wicker sofa, her body taut with apprehension.

"Karl told me you were... enthusiastic," Helen began, a faint, knowing smile playing on her lips. "He has that effect on women. But enthusiasm is not what I require. I require obedience. Discretion. Loyalty." She stood and walked over to Katherine, her movements fluid and predatory. She reached out and touched the collar on Katherine’s throat, her fingers tracing the edge. "This is a symbol of his... interest. A gift. But my gifts are different." She returned to her seat and pressed a small, silver bell on the table.

A door opened, and Don Jameson shuffled in. He was dressed in a simple, ill-fitting grey tracksuit, his body stooped. His face, once the picture of a powerful man, was now a mask of blank subservience. Sunlight glinted off the thin silver chain that connected a manacle on his wrist to another on his ankle, forcing him to take tiny, shuffling steps. There were no overt marks of a beating today, but his very posture was a testament to his complete and utter brokenness. He stopped in the center of the room, his head bowed.

"My husband," Helen said with a wave of her hand, her voice dripping with contemptuous affection. "Was once a very powerful man. Feared. Respected. But power, if not wielded with absolute ruthlessness, is just an opportunity for others to see your weaknesses. And Don," she sighed, "his greatest weakness was always his... sentimentality." She looked at Katherine, her eyes sharp as diamonds. "You see, he had a wandering eye. But what good is a wandering eye when it always leads you back to the same shepherd? Now, he's good for nothing. A pathetic old dog I keep around to remind me of the price of failure."

She stood and walked over to her husband's broken form. Then she turned to Katherine with a dazzling, terrifying smile. "It's time you learned the business, little piggy. But business is boring. Let's have some fun first." She walked to a drawer in an ornate side table and pulled out a thin, flexible rattan cane. She swished it through the air, the sound a sharp, menacing whistle.

She held it out to Katherine. "Your predecessor was... unreliable. She had the same fire in her that you do. But she didn't know when to keep it banked." Helen’s eyes turned hard as flint. "My husband has been a very bad boy. He had a... lapse... in judgment yesterday. He spoke out of turn to Karl. He needs to be punished. I want you to be the one to do it."

Katherine stared at the cane, then at Don Jameson's bent, pathetic form. The logical part of her brain, the cop part, took in what Helen had just told her: "Her predecessor. "There were others; she wasn't the first they had gotten to. Her mind was screaming in revolt. This was wrong. This was a violation of everything she was supposed to stand for. But another part, the darker, newer part that was thriving in the shadows of her own soul, felt a thrill of pure, intoxicating power. The power to inflict pain, to dominate the man who now represented everything she hated about her own father's weakness.

"I... I can't," she whispered, a token protest.

"Of course you can," Helen purred, stepping behind her and placing her hands on Katherine's shoulders, her touch both a promise and a threat. "Think of your father. Think of what he did. Think of his hypocrisy. Now channel all that rage, all that disgust, all that self-hatred onto this worthless thing in front of you. Make him feel what you feel. Or, I will be forced to publish the video of you begging for Karl's cock in your arse. I'm sure even he would be surprised to see how much you enjoyed your punishment."

The threat was a guillotine. Katherine’s hand shot out, her fingers closing around the smooth, cool handle of the cane. It felt right. Terribly, beautifully right. She stood, her body humming with a dark energy she was beginning to understand. Helen guided her to stand before Don Jameson.

"Ten strokes," Helen instructed from her chair, her voice that of a calm umpire. "Make them count."

Katherine looked at Don's bowed head, his greying hair thin and lifeless. She saw her father's face superimposed over his. She saw a lifetime of lies, of hidden weaknesses. She watched as Helen slid his joggers down his legs, noticing the glint of the silver cage that imprisoned his cock. With a guttural cry that was part rage, part release, she swung.

The cane whistled through the air and landed with a sickening thwack across Don's buttocks. He flinched, a pained gasp escaping his lips, but he didn't move. It was the most empowering sound Katherine had ever heard. She drew back and struck again. And again. Each stroke was an exorcism, a baptism in fire. With each welt that rose on his skin, another piece of her own shame and humiliation burned away. By the fifth stroke, tears were streaming down her face, but they weren't tears of sorrow. They were tears of pure, cathartic fury. By the tenth, her arm ached, and her breath came in ragged gasps, and Don Jameson was a whimpering, broken thing on the floor.

Helen was standing beside her, a look of profound, intellectual pleasure on her face. "Excellent," she breathed, her voice thick with approval. She took Katherine's hand, which was still clutching the cane. "You see? You have the heart for this. You have the power within you to be one of us."
