Being a Nazi Slave

S: Hans, first let me thank you for letting me take this interview. Let me just give me potential readers a little context. We are here in an area known as Auschwitz, an area that is the home for a number of sites for the incarceration, enslavement and ultimately for the killing of humans whom the dictatorship you as an SS officer are part of deem to deserve this kind of treatment. Would you agree to my characterization of this place?

HM: Well, in general, yes, your description if not too far from the truth. You can imagine that I would probably choose different word to describe it, but I won’t discuss such details here, Semantically, I agree.

S: Thank you. The part of Auschwitz that we are located in, is called “Venusberg” (hill of Venus). Can you tell our readers what the purpose of this part of Auschwitz is?

HM: Of course. As you already indicated, Auschwitz is actually not just one place, but a collection of bigger or smaller camps – the biggest one for the mass execution of certain groups of people, smaller camps located close to factories and production sites where the inmates of these camps work – or to put it in different words: Where some inmates are utilized for benefit of the German Reich. To me, it was just natural that this utilization should include the pleasure and desires of the Herrenrasse (master race) – especially the more unusual and deviant ones that no German should be the objected of. It took me a while to convince Himmler – he does not share my more exquisite tastes, but in the end he agreed to this institution for the entertainment of the elite of Germany.

S: Let me rephrase that. Venusberg is a place where high ranking members of the Nazi party can use and abuse inmates of Auschwitz like me for any sexual pleasure – they can e.g. rape them, torture them and even kill them?

HM: Yes – exactly. Why not make use of Untermenschen (subhumans) like you to fulfill these desires  without having to submit Germans to the often unpleasant consequences?

S: I perfectly understand the logic from your point of view that I may not necessarily share. How many people life at Venusberg?

HM: We have to distinguish between different groups of people. We can accommodate about 30 guests here in the building we are in right now – the master building of the former farm. In the former servant buildings about the same number of SS men are housed whose main duties comprise guarding the area and training the slaves in different skills the guests may require. We usually have about 150 slaves here, housed in the former stables. The other buildings on the farm are used for the different activities that guests like to indulge in with the slaves.

S: At the end of this interview, I would like to ask you, why you agreed to conducting this interview and to let me write about me life here?

HM: You have been living here for more than 3 years – right? During this time, I have regularly taken pleasure in spending time with you – not just physically, but also in talking and discussing with you. I have to admit, you bear many characteristics of a Herrenmensch. So when you approached me and asked me if I would support your little project with resources like a typewriter, paper, access to the different areas of Vernusberg as a spectator etc., I thought: Why not? I think, such writings could be used in a number of different ways – for information, for sexual stimulation and so on. That’s why agreed on this little experiment – and I’m really looking forward to reding the first chapters!
