Chapter 1

The evening air hung thick with the scent of jasmine and the promise of forever as Mark got down on one knee. The diamond in his hand caught the last rays of the setting sun, scattering fractured light across Sarah’s astonished face. Her gasp was a delicate, perfect thing, followed by tears that welled not from sadness but from an overwhelming joy that seemed to validate every moment they had shared. "Yes," she whispered, her voice trembling as she launched herself into his arms. "Oh, Mark, yes!"

The first month of their engagement was a golden haze of wedding planning and shared dreams. Mark floated on a cloud of bliss, convinced he had found his other half. Sarah was radiant, her laughter a melody that composed the soundtrack to his life. They spent hours poring over bridal magazines, tasting cakes, and visiting venues ranging from rustic barns to elegant ballrooms. Mark deferred to her on nearly every decision, not out of disinterest, but because he genuinely admired her taste. She had an eye for detail, a natural flair for aesthetics that he lacked. "You're so good at this," he'd say, kissing her forehead as she expertly coordinated colour swatches. "I just want you to be happy." She would smile, a deep, satisfied smile he mistook for pure contentment.

The first subtle shift came with the announcement of the guest list. Mark had casually mentioned inviting his rowdy cousin, Dave, and his girlfriend. Sarah's face, usually so open, had become a careful mask. "I don't think that's a good idea, Mark," she said, her tone leaving no room for discussion. "Dave is... unpredictable. I want our day to be elegant. Peaceful." He started to argue, to explain that Dave was just loud and meant well, but she placed a finger on his lips. "Trust me," she said, her eyes holding his. "I know what's best." And he did trust her. So Dave was uninvited. It was a small thing, he told himself, a reasonable compromise for a harmonious wedding day.

Then came the conversation about their physical relationship. They were lying on her couch, a film they weren't watching flickering on the television. Her head was in his lap, his fingers stroking her hair. The atmosphere was intimate, charged with the familiar current of their desire. He leaned down to kiss her, his hand moving from her hair to the curve of her waist, pulling her closer.

"Mark," she said, her voice suddenly serious, pushing gently against his chest. "We need to talk."

He froze, his hand stilling. "What is it?"

She sat up, creating a space between them that felt cold and vast. "I've been thinking," she began, her gaze direct and unwavering. “You know I don’t believe in sex until we're married."

He was hoping to move past this; he had a longing. Almost a need. “But, I thought, He started to say

"I know," she interrupted, her tone soft but firm. "And it’s a wonderful thought. But this is important to me. I want our wedding night to be truly special. A new beginning. The ultimate gift I can give you is my virginity on our wedding night." This was a lie, of course, but she delivered it with such conviction that Mark had no reason to doubt her.

He was stunned, disappointed, and a little hurt. "But... that's six months away," he managed to say.

"I know it's a long time," she said, taking his hand. Her thumb stroked his knuckles in a way that was both comforting and possessive. "But that doesn't mean we can't be intimate." A slow, enigmatic smile spread across her face. "It just means our intimacy needs to be... different. More creative."

He didn't understand what she meant, not until the following night. She led him to her bedroom, A room forbidden to him till now. But tonight felt different. She sat on the edge of the bed, patting the space in front of her. "Kneel," she said softly. It wasn't a request.

He hesitated for only a second before complying, his knees sinking into the plush carpet. She opened her legs. She wasn’t wearing panties. She guided his head between her legs, her fingers tangling in his hair. "Just please me, Mark," she whispered. "Show me how much you love me. Show me you can wait for me."

And so it began. This became their new routine. He would kneel, or lie on his back, his neck craned, his mouth and tongue working to bring her to the shuddering peaks she demanded. He told himself it was a sacrifice, proof of his love. He was pleasing his fiancée, proving his devotion. But sometimes, in the quiet aftermath, a disquieting thought would surface. The taste was sometimes different. Not just the normal variations of her body, but something else. Something saltier, more... pungent. And there was more seepage than he remembered from before.

"God, you make me so wet," she'd pant, pushing his hair back from his sweaty forehead. "You have no idea how excited I get knowing you're waiting for me. It's like my body is responding to your devotion." He accepted her explanation. It made sense. He was making her feel this way. He never once considered that the slightly different taste, the extra wetness, might be because she had been with someone else that day, her lover's deposit still warm inside her when she returned home to her devoted, waiting fiancé.

The chastity cage was the next logical step in her plan. He was discovered one night, a week after the new rules had been established. He was in the bathroom of his own flat. He thought the door was locked, his hand moving frantically under the spray of the shower. The pressure had been building for days, a relentless, physical ache that his nightly duties did nothing to relieve. He was thinking of Sarah, of how she felt, of the release he so desperately craved. He was so lost in his desperate fantasy that he didn't hear the bathroom door click open.

"Mark."

Her voice was devoid of all warmth. It was flat, cold, and terrifying. He jerked his hand away as if burned, fumbling to turn off the water. He yanked back the shower curtain to find her standing there, her arms crossed, her eyes like chips of ice.

"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice dangerously quiet.

"I... I was just..." he stammered, grabbing for a towel.

"No," she said, shaking her head slowly. "Don't you dare lie to me. You were cheating."

"Cheat... Sarah, we're not even married yet. I was just..."

"You're my fiancée," she hissed, stepping closer. "Your body belongs to me. Your pleasure belongs to me. That," she gestured with disgust at his now-flaccid member, "is mine to share when we’re married. You don't get to waste it. Ever."

He stood there, dripping wet, naked and ashamed, feeling like a little boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar. The depth of her anger terrified him. It was disproportionate, almost primal.

The next evening, she came to his apartment carrying a small, velvet pouch. She didn't say hello, didn't kiss him. She simply walked to his living room, sat on the couch, and patted the cushion beside her. He sat, his heart hammering against his ribs.

She tipped the contents of the pouch into her palm. It was a sleek, metallic device, composed of a ring and a cage, all made of polished steel. "This is for the best," she said, her voice calm and reasonable, as if discussing a new coffee maker. "This way, you won't be tempted to cheat again. This way, you can prove to me that your devotion is real. That you can control your base urges for me."

He stared at the thing, a cold dread seeping into his bones. "Sarah, no. I can't..."

"You can," she corrected him gently. "And you will. Don't you want to show me how much you love me? How much are you willing to sacrifice for our future together?" She took his hand, her touch warm against his skin. "It's a symbol, Mark. A symbol of your commitment, of your trust in me. I'll hold the key. I'll decide when you're released. It will bring us closer, I promise."

Her arguments were a masterclass in psychological manipulation. She framed his submission as the ultimate romantic gesture. She made his refusal sound like a lack of love, a failure of commitment. He was cornered. To refuse was to risk losing her entirely. With a sense of profound resignation, he nodded. "Okay," he whispered. "Okay, Sarah."

She smiled then, a triumphant, dazzling smile that almost made him believe it was his idea. The fitting was cold and clinical. She handled his genitals with a detached expertise that was more unnerving than if she had been angry. When the small lock clicked shut, he felt a piece of himself die.
