Chapter 3 of 20
Joshua woke to the sensation of rough hands dragging him across a stone floor. His head throbbed, and his limbs felt heavy and unresponsive. The effects of the dart lingered, clouding his thoughts and dulling his senses. He tried to struggle, but his body refused to obey his commands.
"Easy there, boy," a rough voice grunted. "No point in fighting. You'll only make it worse for yourself."
He was dumped unceremoniously onto a cold metal table in the center of a dimly lit room. As his vision slowly cleared, he saw that he was in some kind of medical facility—or perhaps a torture chamber disguised as one. The walls were lined with instruments he couldn't identify, their purposes sinister and unknown.
Elaine entered the room, followed by the two women from the hunt—Victoria and Margaret, he now remembered—and a fourth woman he hadn't seen before. This one was younger, perhaps in her fifties, with a white coat over her riding clothes and a stethoscope around her neck.
"Good, you're awake," Elaine said, her voice crisp and businesslike. "I'd like you to meet Dr. Helen Reed. She'll be overseeing your... reconditioning."
Dr. Reed stepped forward, her eyes appraising. "Subject appears responsive. Vital signs are stable. The tranquilizer should wear off completely within the hour."
"Subject?" Joshua managed to croak, his throat dry and raw.
Dr. Reed smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "That's what you are now. A subject. A project. Something to be molded and shaped according to our specifications."
Victoria stepped forward, her riding boots clicking against the stone floor. "You see, Joshua, we've found that men like you—ambitious, arrogant, convinced of your own superiority—respond remarkably well to systematic breaking and reconditioning. It's quite fascinating, really. The stronger the ego, the more complete the breakdown."
Margaret circled the table, her fingers trailing along its edge. "And we're nothing if not thorough. By the time we're done with you, you won't remember the man you were. You'll only know the creature we've created—a creature that exists to serve and please us."
Panic surged through Joshua, temporarily overriding the effects of the tranquilizer. He tried to sit up, to escape, but restraints snapped into place around his wrists and ankles, securing him to the table.
"None of that now," Elaine said, her voice sharp. "Struggling is pointless. It only delays the inevitable and makes the process more... uncomfortable."
Dr. Reed approached with a syringe filled with a clear liquid. "This is a special cocktail I developed. It enhances suggestibility while suppressing inhibitions. Quite useful for our purposes. It will help you break down those silly barriers you men have. You will struggle, but you will lose"
She injected the fluid into his arm, and Joshua felt a strange warmth spread through his veins. His thoughts became fuzzy, his resistance melting away like snow in spring. He tried to hold onto his anger, his sense of injustice, but it slipped through his mental fingers like water.
"Good," Dr. Reed noted, watching his face. "The cocktail is taking effect. Now we can begin the first phase of your reconditioning."
She produced a device that looked like a cross between a VR headset and a medical instrument. "This will monitor your brain activity while delivering carefully crafted visual and auditory stimuli. We've found that repeated exposure to certain images and phrases, combined with the cocktail’s chemical enhancement, can effectively rewire neural pathways. In simple terms, we're going to reprogram you."
As she fitted the device over his head, Joshua struggled to maintain his sense of self. He was Joshua Robinson, a powerful executive, a man to be reckoned with. He wasn't some subject to be reprogrammed, some toy for these women's amusement.
The device flickered to life, and suddenly his mind was flooded with images—Elaine seated at the head of a boardroom table, Victoria riding a horse with a naked man crawling beside her, Margaret laughing as she whipped a bound figure. The images came faster and faster, accompanied by a voice—Elaine's voice—repeating phrases such as "You exist to serve," "Your pleasure comes from pleasing us," "Resistance is futile," and "Submission is freedom."
Hours passed, or perhaps it was days. Time lost all meaning as the reprogramming continued. The injections were repeated at regular intervals, each one making him more pliable, more receptive to the messages being drilled into his consciousness.
Occasionally, the woman would pause the session to test his progress. Victoria would touch him, her fingers exploring his body as he lay helpless, and he would feel an involuntary response—shame mixed with a twisted pleasure that horrified him. Margaret would whisper commands in his ear, and he would find himself obeying without question, his mouth moving to form words of submission that his mind rejected.
At some point, Dr. Reed introduced physical stimuli—pain and pleasure expertly administered to reinforce the messages. A sharp pinch when he showed resistance, a gentle caress when he accepted his new reality. His body learned to associate submission with pleasure, resistance with pain, until his responses became automatic.
Through it all, Elaine watched, her expression unreadable. She was the conductor of this symphony of degradation, orchestrating every aspect of his breakdown with the same precision she applied to her business dealings.
Finally, the day came when they removed the restraints. Joshua lay on the table, free to move, but he didn't try to escape. He couldn't. The thought didn't even occur to him. His mind had been reshaped, his priorities reordered.
"Stand," Elaine commanded, and he obeyed without hesitation, his body moving to fulfill her wish before his mind had fully processed the command.
"Kneel," Victoria said, and his knees hit the stone floor with a dull thud.
"Beg," Margaret whispered, and the words poured from his mouth—words of submission, of worship, of desperate need to please these women.
Elaine circled him slowly, her eyes appraising. "Excellent progress," she said, nodding with satisfaction. "The basic reconditioning is complete. Now begins the advanced training."
She stopped before him, tilting his chin up with the toe of her boot. "You will learn to serve us in ways you can't yet imagine. You will learn that your purpose is no longer to lead corporations, but to satisfy the whims of women who are your superiors in every way."
As he looked up at her, his eyes filled with hate and anger, Joshua Robinson—the arrogant corporate shark who had planned a hostile takeover—was still there. But he was their weak puppet. Being programmed to respond to their commands as his mind and ego screamed silently in the back of his mind.
