Chapter 20 of 23
The night was a raw nerve of physical agony. The wood of the chair ground into his spine, the straps carving new territories of pain into his flesh. But the pain was a mercy. It was a distraction from the horror in his skull, from the sounds and images that replayed on an endless loop: her moans, his grunts, the feel of another man's seed cooling on his face. He was a vessel for their contempt.
Sleep was a brief, shallow betrayal. He was jolted awake by a sharp tap on his forehead. Sarah stood over him, a vision in a tailored pantsuit, holding a coffee mug. Her look wasn't anger; it was the cold, clinical curiosity one might give a bug pinned to a board.
"Rise and shine," she sneered. "Or just lie there. It's all you're good for."
She crouched, her perfume a sickening cloud. "Did you enjoy the show? I hope you learned your place. You may be my husband, but you're not a man. You're a tool, a toy to use as we wish”.
She stood, and without warning, upended the coffee onto his chest. The scalding liquid hit his skin, and a muffled scream tore from his throat behind the gag as his body bucked against the straps.
"Oops," she said, her voice flat. "Mother will be up to deal with you. You're the main attraction today."
She left. He lay there, burning, the morning light illuminating his reality.
The click of the lock was his only summons. He waited until Eleanor appeared, a stark figure in a severe grey dress. She looked down at him, not as a person, but as a problem to be managed.
"What a mess," she sighed, her voice devoid of emotion.
She knelt, her movements efficient. One by one, she unbuckled the straps. Each release was a fresh agony as blood flooded back into his limbs. When the last strap was free, she flipped the chair over. He collapsed onto the floor like a sack of bones.
She nudged him with her shoe. "Up."
He couldn't. His arms buckled.
"Useless," she muttered, grabbing his hair. She hauled him to his knees, his scalp screaming. She unbuckled the gag, and it fell from his mouth.
"Thirsty?" she asked, a cruel glint in her eye. Before he could react, she grabbed his chin, spat in his mouth, and commanded, "Swallow."
He choked, but obeyed.
"Stand."
He used the chair to pull himself up, his body trembling.
"Shower," she said, her voice sharp. "Scrub the filth off. Then go to your room and wait. Don't move."
She turned and left, leaving him with his orders and the crushing weight of his own degradation. He shuffled towards the bathroom, a broken man preparing himself for the next layer of hell.
The click of the lock was his only summons. He waited on the cot, a blank slate of fear, until Eleanor appeared. She was dressed in black, a stark, elegant contrast to his nakedness, her eyes holding the cold light of a predator.
"Come," she said, her voice a sliver of ice.
He followed her to the dining room, a space of cold formality. "Kneel," she commanded, pointing to the floor beside the single, ornate chair at the head of the table.
He sank to the floor, his gaze fixed on the carpet.
"Your role here has changed," she began, her tone devoid of all warmth. "You are no longer a husband. You are property. You will serve, obey, and exist at our pleasure. In return, you will not be thrown out. This is not a negotiation. It is your new reality."
She let the silence hang, heavy and absolute. "To mark this transition, you will be re-branded."
From a cabinet, she retrieved a small, velvet box. Inside, on a bed of black silk, lay a single, silver key. She held it up, its metallic glint a star in the oppressive gloom of the room.
"This," she whispered, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial hiss, "is the key to your cock. Your useless little cock. From this moment on, it belongs to me. I, and only I, decide if it ever breathes free air again. It is a constant, physical reminder that you are less than a man. You are a thing I own. Sarah has her own path to follow. You will look to the floor when she passes and attend to her as she wishes. “
She crouched before him, the key dangling between them like a pendulum. "Do you understand what this means?"
He couldn't speak; the collar wouldn’t allow it without punishment. He could only nod, a slow, jerky motion of utter capitulation.
"Good." A thin, cruel smile touched her lips. She threaded the key onto a delicate silver chain and fastened it around her neck, letting it settle in the hollow of her throat. A trophy.
"Your first act of worship," she said, her voice returning to its crisp, commanding tone as she sat back in the chair. "Under the table. Now."
He scrambled to obey, crawling into the suffocating darkness beneath the tablecloth. He knelt before her, a shadow in a shadow, his world reduced to the polished leather of her shoes and the overwhelming, suffocating scent of her power. He was no longer Mark. He was an object, a possession, a creature defined by its service. And his hell had just begun.
The ‘ceremony’ in the dining room left him hollowed out, a vessel for their will. He remained kneeling on the floor long after Eleanor had left, the cold from the carpet seeping into his bones. The silver key, now a permanent fixture around her neck, felt like a physical weight pressing down on him from across the house.
After an eternity, she returned. "Up," she commanded, her voice as sharp as broken glass. She pointed not towards his room, but towards the cellar door. "The builders are back. You will stay upstairs and clean. You will not come down. You will not make a sound. Do you understand?"
He nodded, his head feeling too heavy for his neck.
He spent the next hours on his hands and knees, scrubbing the floors of the upstairs hallway. The rough trousers they'd given him chafed his skin raw. From below, the sounds of work drifted up: the low hum of a saw, the thud of a hammer, the muffled rumble of voices. It was just noise, a meaningless soundtrack to his own personal hell. He couldn't distinguish the words, couldn't know that one of those voices was Tom's, or that Sarah was down there with him, her laughter a private, intimate joke at his expense. He just scrubbed, trying to focus on the repetitive motion, trying to erase the image of the silver key dangling between Eleanor's breasts.
The noise from the cellar finally ceased. He heard the heavy door close, then the rumble of a van starting up and pulling away. The house fell into a sudden, heavy silence.
Eleanor found him still on his hands and knees. "They've gone," she said, her voice flat. "You may come down now."
He shuffled down the stairs, his body aching, his mind a numb void. The kitchen was empty, the table set for one. A single, meagre meal was waiting for him: a bowl of questionable stew, a slice of dry bread. In a silver bowl placed by the back door.
When he was finished, Eleanor took his bowl. "Bed," she commanded.
He stood and shuffled back to his room. The click of the lock was the final, definitive sound of his day. He was left alone in the darkness, a prisoner in his own home, a pawn in a game he didn't even know he was playing. He lay on his cot, his body aching, his mind a blank, numb space, and waited for the night to end, the silver key a ghostly weight on his soul.
Tom's flat was a crumby bachelor pad, small and smelling of stale air. To Sarah, it was perfect. It was a filthy little den that made her feel like the dirty slut she was, and she loved it. She wore his old t-shirt and jeans, dusty from working in the cellar with Tom.
Inside, there was no pretence. He backed her against the wall, his mouth a bruising claim. They tore at each other's clothes in a frantic, desperate race to reach the skin. He threw her onto the unmade bed, his body a heavy, crushing weight.
"Beg for it," he growled, his voice a low command in the gloom.
"Please," she whined, the word tearing from her throat. "Please, I need your cock."
"Tell me why," he demanded, his voice hard. "Tell me about him."
A vicious, ecstatic light filled her eyes. "Because he's pathetic," she spat, the words a release. "His little dick is locked away and useless. He's nothing, a worm. I need a real man. I need you."
Her words were the key. He tore her jeans down and thrust into her, one savage, possessive stroke that tore a scream from her lungs. He pinned her wrists above her head, his body a piston driving into her, claiming her, erasing the other.
"Again," he grunted, his breath hot against her ear. "Tell me."
"He's nothing!" she cried, her nails raking his back. "He's not a man! You're my man! Fuck me like he never could!"
He fucked her harder, pushing them both toward a brutal edge. She shattered first, her body a convulsing, screaming thing. He followed with a deep, guttural roar, emptying himself into her, a final, possessive mark.
They lay tangled in the dark, the air thick with the scent of their betrayal. They were already looking forward to tomorrow.
