Chapter 21 of 23
The lock clicked. Mark's eyes snapped open. Eleanor stood in the doorway, a dark silhouette against the grey morning light.
"Shower," she said, her voice a flat command. "Then to the back door."
He obeyed without question. The hot water did nothing to touch the cold that lived deep inside him. He dried himself and shuffled down the hallway, his nakedness a familiar second skin. The house was silent, save for the soft scrape of his chained feet. He was alone with her.
In the kitchen, Eleanor pointed a single, manicured finger towards the back door. On the floor, beside the mat, sat the metal dog bowl. It was filled with a lumpy, grey porridge.
"Your breakfast is waiting," she said, her voice dangerously soft.
He stood there for a moment, a statue of despair, the finality of the act crashing down on him. This was it. The last vestige of his humanity was being stripped away, not with a shout, but with a quiet, humiliating expectation. He was to eat from a bowl on the floor, like an animal.
He looked from the bowl to Eleanor's cold, impassive face. There was no escape. No reprieve. He sank to his hands and knees, the chain on his ankles clinking softly, a mournful little bell announcing his descent. He lowered his head to the bowl, the smell of the bland, cooked oats filling his nostrils, and began to eat.
He finished the slop from the bowl, the taste of humiliation coating his tongue. He stayed on all fours, a dog waiting for its master's next whim.
Eleanor's voice cut through the silence, sharp and cold. "Up."
He scrambled to his knees, then his feet, his chains rattling a frantic, pathetic rhythm.
She took a rough cloth and wiped his mouth as if he were a child.
"Your room is no longer needed," she stated, her tone flat, final. "Strip the cot. Vacuum the mattress. Fold the frame. Store it."
The words landed like physical blows. His room. His bed. The last fragile claim he had to a space of his own, however miserable. It was being erased.
He saw the flicker of hesitation in his own mind reflected in her eyes. She didn't need to speak. She simply raised her hand, her fingers hovering over the phone in her pocket. The threat of a shock from the collar was enough to get him moving.
He moved, a puppet with its strings cut, then jerked back into a frantic, clumsy dance. He dragged the thin, stained mattress outside, the rough concrete scraping his bare feet. The roar of the vacuum was a deafening shriek in his ears as he sucked the last traces of himself from its surface. He folded the metal frame, the joints screaming in protest, and shoved it into the dark cavern under the stairs.
He stood in the centre of the now-empty room. This was a message he couldn’t fathom. Was the floor to be his new bed?. Was he no longer even human enough for a cot?
The day was a blur of mindless, repetitive servitude. He scrubbed, he wiped, he polished, his world shrinking to the small, circular motions of his hand and the constant, clanking reminder of the chain on his ankles.
At five o'clock, she found him on his hands and knees. She didn't speak. She simply dropped a sandwich wrapped in plastic onto the floor beside him. He ate it where he knelt, the dry bread a tasteless fuel for his continued existence.
When he finished, she pointed to a simple wooden chair placed in the centre of the kitchen. "Sit."
He complied, and she tied him down, his wrists and ankles secured to the frame. She didn't speak. There was only the cold, detached finality of the act. She switched on the electric clippers.
The low, menacing buzz of the clippers was the only sound in the kitchen. He sat rigid, bound to the chair, as the cold metal sheared away his hair. Thick, dark clumps tumbled to the floor around him, a visual representation of his identity being stripped away. When she was done, he was bare, his scalp pale and vulnerable in the harsh light.
She switched off the clippers, the sudden silence ringing in his ears. She untied him, her movements efficient and devoid of ceremony. "Clean up your mess," she commanded, gesturing to the hair littering the floor.
He was given a dustpan and a brush. He knelt, his newly exposed head feeling cold and alien, and meticulously swept up every last trace of himself, depositing the dark, bristly waste into the bin.
"Shower," she ordered. "Then come to the lounge."
He stood under the hot water, his scalp a strange, new landscape of sensation. He scrubbed himself clean, the water washing away the loose hairs, the grime, and the last vestiges of his old self. He dried off, his reflection in the mirror a stranger—a pale, shorn creature with haunted eyes.
He walked to the lounge, his steps slow and hesitant. She was sitting on the sofa, a glass of red wine in her hand, looking like a queen on her throne. She didn't speak as he entered, just watched him approach, her gaze a physical touch that made his skin crawl. He stopped in the centre of the room and knelt, his head bowed, waiting for the next command.
He stood before her, a shorn, blank canvas, his head bowed, waiting. Eleanor swirled the deep red wine in her glass, her eyes, dark and calculating, appraising him over the rim. She took a slow, deliberate sip, then placed the glass on the table beside her.
Without a word, she shifted on the sofa. Her silk dress, which had draped elegantly around her, now fell away as she slowly, deliberately opened her legs. She was not wearing anything underneath. The sight was a command in itself, a raw, unvarnished display of power. She pointed a single, manicured finger towards the glistening, dark delta between her thighs.
"Service," she said, her voice a low, husky command, the single word hanging in the air with the weight of a death sentence.
He crawled forward, his world narrowing to the space before him, the scent of her arousal a potent, overwhelming perfume. He lowered his head, his mind a void, his body a tool for her use. His tongue found her, and he began to work.
He was no longer a person; he was a function. His tongue moved with a desperate, practised precision, seeking to please, to appease, to avoid the consequences of failure. He explored every fold, every contour, his jaw aching, his own identity dissolving into the taste of her.
She kept him there, working with his mouth for the next hour. It was a marathon of servitude, his world a haze of sensation and exhaustion. She guided him with subtle shifts of her hips, with the sharp, painful tug on his ear when his pace faltered, with the low, encouraging murmurs that felt more like a threat than praise.
He could feel her tension building, her thighs tightening around his head, her breathing becoming more ragged. He worked harder, his tongue a frantic, desperate blur, driven by a primal need to finish this, to end the ordeal.
Finally, she shattered. Her back arched, a strangled cry tearing from her throat. But it wasn't a sound of simple pleasure. It was a torrent of the most humiliating slurs she could muster, her voice a raw, triumphant shout in the quiet room.
"That's it, you pathetic little worm! Eat my pussy! You fucking useless, caged-up piece of shit! This is all you're good for! This is all you'll ever be! A fucking tongue for me to use! You're not a man! You're not even a fucking pet! You're a thing! A disgusting, worthless thing!"
The words washed over him, each one a fresh lash, a final, brutal confirmation of his worthlessness. He didn't stop. He couldn't. He continued to service her through her orgasm, his mouth a vessel for her pleasure and her contempt, his soul drowning in the bitter flood of her release.
Her orgasm subsided, and with a final, shuddering sigh, her body went limp. The tension in the room dissipated, replaced by a thick, post-coital silence. She lay there for a moment, her chest rising and falling, her breathing slowly returning to normal. Then, with a casual, dismissive movement, she pushed him aside. He stumbled back, his mouth wet with her juices, his mind a blank, numb space. He was a tool that had been used and was now being discarded.
He knelt on the floor, his head bowed, waiting for the next command. He didn't have to wait long.
"Stay," she commanded, her voice crisp and businesslike. She stood up and walked over to a small, ornate cabinet in the corner of the room. He could hear her rummaging inside, the soft clink of metal on wood.
She returned, her hands full. She knelt in front of him, her movements efficient and practised. The first thing she did was tie a thick, black leather blindfold around his head, plunging him into a world of absolute darkness. The sudden sensory deprivation was disorienting, a fresh wave of panic washing over him.
Next came the ball gag. She forced the rubber ball into his mouth, his jaw aching in protest as she buckled the strap tightly behind his head, silencing any sound he might make.
Then, she grabbed his wrists and pulled them behind his back. He felt the cold, unforgiving click of steel as she handcuffed him, his hands locked together, useless and defenceless.
He was now completely immobilised, a helpless, sensory-deprived captive. He could feel her standing over him, her presence a palpable, oppressive weight. He could hear the soft rustle of her dress, the faint scent of her perfume, a heady, intoxicating mix of power and sex.
"This is it," she whispered, her voice a low, menacing hiss in his ear. "The final act. The end of you, and the beginning of... something new."
He could feel her moving around him, preparing for something, but he didn't know what. He was a fly caught in a sadistic web, his fate sealed, his future a terrifying, unknown void. He was hers, to do with as she pleased, a willing participant in his own slow, agonising destruction. And as he knelt there, a broken, sobbing mess, he knew, with a certainty that chilled him to the bone, that this was his life now. This was his hell. And there was no escape.
