Chapter 3 of 24
The day Eleanor and Mark left for their literary pilgrimage to Stratford-upon-Avon, the atmosphere in the house shifted. The theatrical cruelty of their shared dominance was replaced by Alistair's quiet, methodical malevolence. He stood in the living room as they said their goodbyes, not participating in the familial farewell but observing it like a general reviewing his troops.
"Take all the time you need, dear sister," Alistair said, his eyes never leaving Clara, who was kneeling by the fireplace. "The creature and I will become... well acquainted."
Eleanor laughed, a bright, cruel sound. "Don't break it completely, Alistair. Mark is rather fond of it."
"I'll be gentle," he replied, though the promise in his voice was anything but.
The moment the front door clicked shut, Alistair's demeanor changed. The affable uncle vanished, replaced by the military disciplinarian. "Stand up," he barked, his voice cracking like a whip.
Clara scrambled to her feet, her body already conditioned to obey instantly.
"Your training has been... sentimental. Soft. My sister and her son have forgotten the value of true discipline. We will remedy that." He sat in the armchair, his imposing frame filling it completely. "Over my knee. Now."
The next three days were a blur of pain and humiliation. Alistair was a connoisseur of corporal punishment. Over-the-knee spankings were his art form. He would deliver them with his bare hand, with a hairbrush, with a leather strap he'd brought in his suitcase. Each session was long and methodical, ending with Clara's bottom glowing a fiery red and her face streaked with tears, which he would cruelly mock.
"Is that all the spirit you have?" he'd sneer as she sobbed. "Pathetic." He used every hole with the same detached efficiency he applied to his punishments. He took her on the floor, against the wall, over the kitchen table. There was no passion, only use, a cold, clinical act of ownership that was somehow more degrading than Eleanor's psychological games.
The nadir came on Sunday afternoon. He dressed her in a short, cheap-looking raincoat, with nothing underneath. "We're going for a little drive," he announced, his eyes gleaming with a nasty light.
He drove them to the Medway Services, a bleak, sprawling oasis of tarmac and fluorescent lights that catered to the endless stream of traffic on the M2. The air tasted of diesel and fried food.
"You're going to earn your keep today," Alistair said, pulling into the lorry park. He pointed towards a line of towering articulated trucks. "See those drivers? Lonely men, far from home. You will go to them. You will offer them your services. Twenty pounds a go. You will not refuse anyone. You will not use protection. Do you understand?"
Clara stared at him in horror. This was beyond anything she had imagined. This was a public, transactional defilement. "Please... no," she whispered.
Alistair's hand shot out, grabbing her throat, his grip like iron. "You will do as you're told, or I will make you wish you had. Now get out."
For the next two hours, Clara walked the line of lorries, a ghost in a cheap coat, knocking on cab doors. Some men waved her away, others looked at her with a mixture of pity and lechery. Four of them accepted her offer. Each encounter was a nightmare of grunting, sweaty bodies in cramped cabs, the smell of stale cigarettes and cheap air freshener filling her nostrils. She felt the money, crumpled and dirty, being pressed into her hand each time, the transactional nature of it a final, crushing blow to her soul.
Alistair was waiting for her by the car, a small, triumphant smile on his face. "Eighty pounds. Not bad for a first-timer." He drove home in silence, leaving Clara feeling filthy, used, and hollowed out.
Back at the house, he marched her straight to the bathroom. "You stink of other men," he said disgustedly. He turned the shower on to its coldest setting and pushed her in. She gasped as the icy water hit her skin, but he held her in place, scrubbing her raw with a rough brush until she was shivering and crying.
When he was satisfied, he dragged her, dripping and freezing, to the living room. The bondage was the most uncomfortable she had ever endured. He forced her onto her knees, then bent her forward until her forehead touched the floor. He tied her wrists to her ankles, pulling them tight behind her back. Then came the insertions. A large, cold dildo was shoved into her pussy, followed by a thick, unforgiving butt plug that filled her arse. Finally, a ball gag was strapped into her mouth, silencing any protest.
He stepped back to admire his work. From a drawer, he produced a piece of cardboard and a marker. He scrawled on it in block capitals: "I'M A SLUT, AND I JUST FUCKED FOUR TRUCK DRIVERS." He hung it around her neck with a piece of string. He then took out his phone and, with a flash, captured a picture of her complete degradation.
Alistair stayed for another hour, sipping a glass of whiskey and reading the paper while Clara remained hog-tied and sprawled on the floor, a monument of shame. Just before he left, he placed the eighty pounds she had earned on the floor beside her head. "A souvenir," he said, and walked out the door without a backward glance.
Hours later, Clara heard the key in the lock. Eleanor and Mark were home, their voices light and cheerful from their cultural excursion. Their laughter died the moment they entered the living room.
There was a moment of stunned silence. Then, Eleanor's phone chimed. She looked at the screen, and a slow, delighted smile spread across her face. She held it out for Mark to see.
"Well, well," Eleanor purred, her voice thick with amusement. "It seems Alistair has been giving the creature some real-world experience."
Mark peered at the phone and then let out a loud, appreciative laugh. "Fucking hell! The old bastard's got style." He looked over at Clara, tied and plugged on the floor, and his eyes shone with a new, darker admiration. "I knew he'd break her properly."
They walked towards her, not to untie her, but to inspect her. They circled her like vultures, reading the sign around her neck, taking in the humiliating details of her bondage and the money scattered on the floor beside her. They laughed, a rich, shared sound of perfect, united cruelty.
"Welcome home, Mistress," Mark said, turning to Eleanor and kissing her deeply, right in front of his helpless wife. "Thank you for the trip. And thank you for my present."
Eleanor stroked Clara's hair, her touch almost gentle. "We'll have to have Alistair stay more often," she murmured, her eyes dancing with malicious glee. "It seems he's finally taught you your place."
Clara lay there, a collection of aching, filled holes, the sign around her neck a testament to her ultimate worthlessness. They found her exactly as Alistair had left her, and their laughter was the final, definitive answer. She was nothing. She was nobody. And she had earned eighty pounds to prove it.
