Chapter 8 of 10
Chapter Eight
The first disruption came from three rows ahead.
Kalani’s father had been muttering for several minutes, loud enough that nearby heads had already turned. Then his voice rose clearly over the low ventilation hum.
“She always hated taking it up the ass. Guess she’s finally getting what she deserved—right up there, nice and deep.”
The words landed like a slap. Kalani half-rose from her seat, vision tunneling, but Karen’s hand closed hard around her wrist and pulled her back down before the sound could fully leave her throat. A Chiron employee was already moving. Two security staff appeared as if summoned, took the man firmly by the arms, and walked him out through the rear doors without ceremony. His tablet clattered once against a chair and was left behind. The new girlfriend remained seated, staring straight ahead with a carefully blank expression, and made no move to follow.
Karen kept her grip until Kalani’s breathing slowed. Neither of them spoke. On the far left of the still-opaque screen the gallery waited in brittle silence.
Inside the chamber Anya Sterling stepped to the center of the stage, tablet in one hand, and addressed the three restrained women in a voice calibrated to carry without strain.
“Each of you remains under final warrant hold. You will know the warrant has been signed when the indicator light on the console in front of your chair turns green. Until that moment the process does not begin. I am about to make the viewing window transparent and formally welcome the witnesses. You will each be introduced by name and given one minute for a final statement. When your minute ends, a ring gag will be placed behind your teeth, a specialized oral plug will be inflated to fill the cavity, and the faceplate’s oral shield will be locked. After the statements conclude I will address the gallery and we will wait for the clock to reach sixteen hundred hours. Is that understood?”
No one answered. The question had not required an answer.
Anya keyed a command. The thick glass that had remained fully opaque cleared in a smooth, progressive fade. Soft gallery lighting became visible on the other side, along with rows of faces. Kate’s gaze found the far left immediately. Kalani sat rigid, eyes already shining. Beside her, slightly farther back, Lydia watched with the controlled stillness of someone who had done this too many times. Both women’s faces were wet. Shame crashed through Kate in a hot wave—she knew exactly how she must look: shaved, strapped, diapered, metal locked around her most private places, face half-erased by the leather hood. At the same time something raw and grateful cracked open in her chest at the simple fact that they were there.
Anya introduced herself to the gallery in the same even tone, then named each condemned woman in turn. When Kate’s name was spoken she forced her shoulders back against the posture collar as far as the restraints allowed and drew what breath she could.
Her minute began.
She had planned something coherent. What came out was simpler and less polished than she had rehearsed.
“Kalani… I’m sorry I won’t see the rest of your life. You were the best thing I ever did. Be kinder to yourself than I managed to be. I love you. That’s all.”
The ring gag followed at once—firm rubber forcing her jaws apart. The oral plug was seated and inflated in three measured pulses until it filled her mouth completely, pressing her tongue down and sealing against the soft palate. The faceplate’s oral shield snapped closed over it with a final metallic click. Breathing became a careful exercise through the nose alone. Tears already blurred her vision.
Anya waited until the last statement had been cut off, then turned fully to the gallery.
“The State has sentenced these three women to death by Seated Electro Impaler for crimes against public order and moral statute. Each will be impaled by a titanium rod introduced through the anal entrance. Controlled electrical current will be applied to assist the rod’s progress through the body and to induce extensive internal bleeding. Death will occur by exsanguination. The sentences will be carried out according to current protocol. We will begin at sixteen hundred hours precisely.”
The large digital clock on the chamber wall read 15:57.
Anya moved from chair to chair. At each one she stopped, met the woman’s open eyes, and spoke the formal words of sentence confirmation in a voice too low for the microphones but clear enough for the condemned. She gave them a final unobstructed look toward the glass before the next phase began.
Gauze pads were laid over Kate’s eyes and taped smoothly at the edges. A semi-rigid padded blindfold followed, snapping into receivers on the faceplate until no light remained. The world shrank to the sound of her own pulse, the muffled hum of the generators, and the faint, distant noise of the other two women still struggling against their own gags.
Anya and Valerie conducted the final inspection in silence—testing every strap, every connection, every alignment. When they finished, Anya’s voice carried across the stage.
“Wire the platforms. Arm the systems. Clear non-essential personnel.”
Kate’s heartbeat appeared on the overhead monitors in a climbing red trace. She could do nothing about it. The only motion still available to her was the small restless flex of fingers and toes against the restraints. She tested the straps again out of pure animal refusal; they did not yield so much as a millimeter. Her tongue pushed uselessly against the inflated rubber filling her mouth. Tears soaked the gauze. She tried to slow her breathing through her nose, but the passages were already running and each inhale felt insufficient.
Cables were brought forward. Black and red leads clicked into the rear ports of the metallic bra through a slot in the chair back. Additional leads seated against contact points on the chastity belt above the bulk of the diaper. Final cables locked into the base of the recessed pole beneath the stage and into the electrode cuffs at her ankles. Status lights along the control console shifted from amber to green in steady sequence.
One light remained stubbornly red.
Anya moved to the second chair, examined the connection at the chastity belt, and reseated the entire assembly with a firm, precise motion. The light turned green. During those thirty seconds Kate’s mind, starved for any possible mercy, seized on the pause as evidence that something had gone wrong—that a stay might still arrive. The hope was irrational and almost immediately poisoned by dread, but it lived for those few breaths.
Anya returned to the center of the stage. One by one she manually opened and then locked each chair’s anal seat shield. The mechanism on Kate’s chair released with a sharp, disconcerting click. Instantly cold chamber air rushed upward against her recently cleaned rosebud, an intimate and shocking exposure that made her flinch hard against the unyielding straps. As Anya worked she leaned close enough to each woman that only they could hear the short, private words she chose.
To the young thin woman: “Endure it cleanly.”
To the matronly woman: “Strength is still possible.”
To Kate, after the shield locked beneath her with a heavy final click: “Your penance will be carried out exactly. Do not waste what remains on false hope.”
Anya stepped to the main control panel. Her gloved fingers moved across the interface with deliberate calm. On the monitors the three titanium poles began their slow, programmed ascent from beneath the stage.
Kate felt the first touch as a precise, ice-cold point of pressure against the puckered ring of her anus, perfectly aligned with the open port of the belt and diaper. The contact was minimal—barely more than the tip—but it was unmistakable. Panic detonated through her nervous system in a single white flash. Her bladder, already under pressure from the IV fluids and hours of accumulated tension, released completely. Hot urine flooded the diaper in a continuous, uncontrollable rush, soaking the padding, the vaginal shield, and the stem of the pear while the cold titanium remained exactly where it had first touched her.
On the overhead screens her heart rate spiked into a jagged red peak. The poles had not yet begun their true rise. The procedure had not started.
Only the first cold promise of it.
