Chapter Nine
The glass cleared in a slow, deliberate fade.
Kalani’s first clear sight of her mother landed like a physical impact. Kate sat locked into the center chair, posture collar forcing her chin up, heavy leather hood already erasing most of her face. The metallic bra and the bulk of the execution diaper were unmistakable even at this distance. Every strap, every clamp, every unnatural swelling of tissue looked clinical and absolute. Kalani’s mind tried to reconcile the restrained figure on the stage with the woman who had once braided her hair and hummed off-key in the kitchen. The two images refused to occupy the same space. She could only stare, hands locked white-knuckled on the armrests, while her own breathing turned shallow and uneven. Somewhere beneath the horror she kept circling the same useless question: how much of this could her mother still feel, and how much had already been taken away.
When Kate’s final words reached the gallery speakers, Kalani’s eyes flooded. The simple, unpolished sentences cut deeper than any prepared speech could have. She barely registered the formal machinery that followed—the gags, the blindfolds, the quiet efficiency of the nurses. Only when the first visible darkening spread across the front of her mother’s diaper did something inside her crack open completely. The slow, undeniable flood of urine was private and public at once. Kalani’s heart felt like it was being crushed in a fist.
Anya’s voice carried cleanly across the chamber.
“Warrants confirmed. Sixteen hundred hours. We begin.”
The first chair activated with a low, rising thrum. Thirty seconds later the second followed. Kate, still waiting in the third position, could not stop the frantic micro-movements of her hips as she tried to pull herself away from the cold point already kissing her anus. The attempt was useless; the restraints held her in perfect alignment. Through the muffling of the earphones she could still hear the distorted, high-pitched sounds coming from the first two chairs—muffled screams that rose and fractured. The sharp scent of ozone reached her next, followed by the unmistakable hot, chemical smell of urine beginning to boil inside heavy padding.
Her own body betrayed her further. The pear, still closed, was gripped by the involuntary tightening of her vaginal walls. Sweat gathered in the hollow of her throat, under the posture collar, along the edges of the metallic bra. Every second stretched.
Then the thrum reached her chair.
The cold titanium tip pressed forward with mechanical patience. At first there was only pressure—steady, widening, inevitable. The pole’s taper began to open her. Within moments the pear activated. A deep internal vibration rolled through the copper device as it unlocked and began to bloom. Electrodes around her clitoris fired in punishing bursts at the same time the pear’s expanding tips forced her cervix open and continued outward, stretching and tearing the vaginal canal over a measured forty-five seconds. Electricity arced between every contact node—clitoris, labia, anal ring, the conductive surfaces of the belt and bra—far higher than any human body was meant to carry. Kate’s pale skin flushed dark red. Veins rose hard under the surface. Blood, bright and immediate, joined the urine already soaking the diaper.
She screamed.
The sound was raw, continuous, and almost entirely trapped behind the inflated oral plug and faceplate shield. Her body convulsed against the straps in hard, useless waves while the pole continued its slow ascent.
In the gallery Kalani watched the diaper turn from yellow-tinged to deep, spreading red. Her mother’s body arched and shuddered inside the restraints. Muffled screams leaked past the hood. Mucus and saliva sprayed in thin threads from the edges of the faceplate with every desperate attempt to breathe. A thin line of red began to travel down the exposed lower section of the titanium pole where it rose from the stage. Kalani’s own body reacted without permission—thighs pressing together, sphincter tightening hard in helpless sympathy. Karen’s hand found hers and held on. Neither of them looked away.
Inside the hood, inside the blindfold, inside the relentless current, Kate’s thoughts fractured into short, broken pieces between the waves of agony.
Too much—can’t—
The electricity did not arrive as a single steady current. It pulsed and shifted in complex patterns, sometimes sharp and localized, sometimes rolling through her entire torso until she felt as if her muscles were vibrating in time with the machine. Her hips jerked in small, involuntary rhythms against the blooming pear and the rising pole, a grotesque parody of movement that the restraints turned into pure torment.
The pole entered her stomach.
Gastric acid and the remains of whatever she had last been given flooded downward into tissues never meant to receive them. The chemical burn was immediate and nauseating, a deep internal wrongness that made her try to double over against straps that would not allow it.
Still the titanium climbed.
When it reached the esophagus the sensation became something beyond pain—an extreme, continuous indigestion that filled her chest and throat at the same time. Her body tried to vomit in automatic, repeated spasms. Almost nothing came. Occasionally a thin rush of mucus or blood forced its way around the oral plug and leaked from the edges of the faceplate. Most of the effort went nowhere, trapped and churning.
The pole completed its programmed ascent and stopped.
The electrical current cut off in the same instant.
For a stretched, impossible moment there was only the foreign presence itself: a cold, rigid column occupying her from anus to the back of her throat. The tip rested so high that the very edge of her tongue, forced forward by the inflated plug, could just brush against the ultra-cold metal.
Kate hung in the straps, blind, gagged, and completely full of the thing that was killing her, trying to understand that the worst part had not yet finished—only paused.
