Chapter 10 of 13
My name is Aayansh. I am an eastern deitized dragon and am 59 feet tall (quadrapedic) and I weigh 10 tonnes. My story is quite short and uninteresting, though I hope you finish this reading fellow god. Being an advisor for natural defences, I'd appreciate you learning something from my story if you can. I'll open us up at my earliest memory. I remember seeing the blue sky and counting the stars, though never concluding a final number. Even when I was young, I had the ability to do math extremely well. So well that i could predict what everyone would do before it happened and I won every fight and argument I've ever come across. I and the rest of my dragon brethren lived in mountains inside of caves, receiving thanks from villagers for protecting them. We would always thank them and I remember my mother teaching me how to dragon. Always have a cache of important things you have, keep everything you can, and always be scary. I am non of these things and don't do any of these. She tried to convince me that these things were good, yet they only hurt people. I only hoard gold, but simply so I can buy things at a later date. Plus, it's a great bed for me. Anyways, one day a loner wyvern approached the village I protected. The medieval village could do nothing as arrows bounced off the wyvern and it began to raid them of everything, eating their children when they could. I approached the village and pinned the wyvern down. We spoke about their problems for a bit, though I quickly threw them to the wall. They were in pain as they went through multiple trees, though they still stood up. They got into a defensive stance and were ready to fight a being that was several times their weight class. I walked up to them and flicked their nose with a claw, breaking their neck and splintering their head into pieces. Dust got picked up from the attack and they fell to the ground. I blew a soft breath of cold air through the village, pushing the picked-up dust out of the village. I looked behind me and saw them struggling to live. I admit, I felt bad. Suffering was never my intention for this creature i hurt. I wish to only be swift and deadly, causing as little pain as quickly as possible. I chose strategy over chaos. I asked if they wished for death, and they gave me a very weak 'yes'. I raised a paw as a tear fell down their face, ready for it. I brought down my paw and crushed their head, splattering their brain and skull all over the floor. I took a very deep breath in and blew a breath of pure fire, incinerating it and turning it to dust. I gave it a respectful bow and blew their ashes into the wind, returning them to nature. I looked to the villagers and they bowed to me, thanking me for their help. I apologised for not being quicker and asked them to forgive the wyvern's soul. They were scavenging and looting for survival, which meant they wished to live. Life is painful and they learned it faster than any of us gods could. I bowed back, returning the goodbye and walked back to my mountaintop. When I got there a squirrel was counting my coins. I warned them to back away but they asked me a question, "What is it you want more than anything in the world?" "I wish to be able to defend those in need from anything, including themselves. May I ask why you're here?" I replied, ready to turn this being to ashes. "Aayansh Dragonfire, you've been chosen for the potential of becoming a god, do you accept?" I was baffled, yet sceptical. How could I trust this being? He simply snapped and teleported to my face, now sitting on it. "I wonder what it's like being eaten alive by a being that wouldn't even need to chew me up. You could vore me, but let's decide, right?" He had proven me right there. He was a god, and so I accepted. I completed 15 challenges and gained the power to process anything quicker than any other being, other than Hecate. With this, I became knowledgeable of Hecate. I looked to the sky and yelled," Hecate! I wish to share my knowledge and understanding of strategies with you. I wish to become the God of Natural Defences! My body and mind will be yours, please just let me help you!" That's when she appeared behind me in a throne, "You believe your wisdom and knowledge are needed? I understand you just became a god, and we will talk about that, but why would the being that created everything need your help?" "Multiple perspectives and the possibility prediction that I possess. I promise that my abilities will be of use, ask me anything!" I begged while bowing, breathing onto the dirt. "If i allow this, how can I know you won't corrupt and I'll have to put you down?" She queried. "You don't know, and neither do I. One is always programmed to assume they are in their best shape until proven otherwise. What i do know is that I've never abused any power given to me, and I don't plan to anytime soon. My life has been peaceful, doing nothing but protecting those in need. I never took initiative to assist and would like to be able to start doing so by assisting you. Your immeasurable power is enough to create this universe, why wouldn't it be enough to help it flourish? Please, I beg you," Is all I asked for. I stood back up, determined to either be accepted or to walk away. She nodded and teleported me up to her village. Everyone was still meeting each other so I joined them. My home became a mountain in the backdrop of the heaven, looking out onto the beautiful river and waterfall. I became the God of Natural Defences. I now advise Hecate and others what the best way to defend a place is while keeping nature as intact as possible. Aisura helps me do this quite often, and I greatly appreciate her assistance. Goodbye, my dear readers./p
