The first thing I can remember is adrenaline. The chase and escape from the terrible human laboratory. I was but a pup, being held in my mother's maw. They ran experiments on my parents, giving them small abilities and intelligence they'd not have otherwise. They would taze us if we did anything out of character, forcing us into a life we never asked for. We couldn't even take ourselves out. We were forced to mate to make obedient servants for them. That is the story my parents told me. I cannot remember the laboratory, though it sounds terrible. I've always stayed away from the human mortals, only helping the animals in need. My life hasn't been the greatest as you can tell, though I have learned a lot. Now, I will tell you the story (in a broad sense) of how and why I became a goddess. When I was young, still a pup, we escaped from the lab. We dashed and pulled broke bones and killed a few people too. We had to get away from this terrible life, though how could we? If all you knew was pain, could you go back to relaxing? When we got far enough, we did a headcount. 125 canines, three of which were my family. I had a mother, father, and a half-sister who is the product of a forced mating with my father. My mother and father didn't need to be forced into a kennel to kiss and hug, they only needed to make eye contact. We looked around and got into little pods, becoming our own little village in the mortal world. Telekinesis was common in our race (mainly because of the experiments) so we were able to easily build ourselves a new home. A team of twenty telekinetics built homes for each family, building more for each new one formed. When it was asked for a new home, the payment was a favour. We all owed our lives to these twenty, they gave us everything. In the end, the cute but strong canines sighed loudly as they finished up. Our little village of quadrupedal canines finally was built. As a favour, they all asked to have drinks together. We decided to make wine since we lived near a vineyard. It was quick and easy, and even I got some! I was so young at the time, it makes me laugh when I hear of mortal humans making their stupid rules. As time passed, we grew into a very large village. We had about five hundred civilians when it happened. The flurry of blood. They twist of wind. The smell of iron. It happened on a day when I was out picking berries for my fellow foxes since we all liked them. My half-sister was also there and smiled as she would gently pick them up in her teeth and then drop them into the wooden bucket. The smith we had did very well work with our woodsman, I thought before it hit. Suddenly, I heard nothing but screams and cries, loved ones begging for another to wake up. The smell of blood pierced through the air like a sad and painful knife. The breeze was so strong it nearly pushed us away! When it stopped, there was only silence. Nothing but silence. It pains me to think of this now but to show what I've learned I must go through. I gently bit my sister, teleporting us to the village entrance. She ran to her mother's home, though it was now destroyed. My home was still intact, though beaten and blood-smeared. I started crying, as I couldn't hear anything happening inside. I peered into the window and fell back onto the floor crying. The pain was immeasurable. I wasn't there for them in the moments they needed me. Who was I? Their malformed daughter who was mistaken for a son that never brought them anything but pain. They loved me, though the canines (not foxes or wolves) would always try to hurt me, physically or mentally. I convinced myself it was my fault, but suddenly I heard the scream for help. In an effort to find her mother, she buried herself in the home's basement. She was being suffocated, pleading to the gods for help. She accepted her fate of death but couldn't accept her mother's, as wretched as that bitch was. I tried to dig with my claws but I couldn't. Her air was running out and I curled into a ball, crying into my own hip as my whole village died. Aisura, my sister, was so young. She was barely born when we escaped, about a week old. She was maybe a year old, nothing for our species. Her cries suddenly ended but as soon as they did the rubble began to lift. A stranger, who I'd never seen before, was lifting the rubble with telekinesis. She yelled for me to get her, so I did. I barely made it out with Aisura as she dropped it. She clearly wasn't skilled in telekinesis, but am I happy she was there. As soon as I got out, I performed CPR on my little sister. She woke from the most painful sleep she'll have and we shared a long nuzzle. Our cries were interrupted as the stranger introduced herself. Her name was Alora, a native to the land that had escaped from the lab too. It seems the lab was worse than I remembered, testing on natives. Funny how us animals can sometimes have more humanity than humans themselves. That is the story of my beginning. Now, let me skip a few years into the beginning. Nothing interesting happened, don't worry. It was 2040 and we sat down on the land of our old village. We had already mourned though it still hurts. It was so sudden, so short. The last thing I told her was that I hate her, right before leaving. Though, now we celebrate a new life. We sat there, sniffling and nuzzling to celebrate. We had made a new village far away, making sure to never let anyone hurt each other while inside. Our currency was favours and honour was our way. As old as it sounds, it worked. Everyone was happy.I decided that day to step down from being the pack leader and both Aisura and Alora joined me. We wrote down what would be the foundations for a leader and then left, wishing all of them a good life. We went around the world, searching for a reason. We loved being on top, being leaders, but it was lonely. My mates never got the shine or attention I did so I never got one. I never dated because I was scared. I was the most man's girl anyone had ever seen, yet even then, I was alone. Until I and my sister and friend got approached by a squirrel. He asked us what we wanted in life. We three answered in unison that we wanted to help. He asked if we'd become gods to do so and if we'd ever let it get to our heads. We again answered in unison that no, we would simply do everything we can to help. Our lives were nothing but pain. How could we stand by knowing another person is going through what we did? It wasn't right. So he brought us to his home and tested us. I finished the trial so many times I sometimes glow a holy light if I don't relax. My sibling and friend simply did it once and we decided to help the village we built. We set up a protective barrier together, essentially blocking out the outside world. After this, we used all of our power to create a pocket universe. The village all went inside and we built them paradise. We asked them if they needed anything else, and they said no. So, we left them to their own devices. We were then approached by Hecate. We were asked to come to help them as they needed advisors. A god cannot know everyone or everything, so we understood. We all agreed in exchange for full deitisation. We became fully holy, now able to help anyone. We don't need to worry about the land overgrowing anymore since we can control even our dead cells. It's been a few years now and we still cuddle, nuzzle and chat. This little village is a steamy pot but it's home. Everyone is happy and ready to listen to rock and roll. Our favourite is SlipKnot. Great band. We live together, all three of us, and we advise Hecate and Gekido on mortal affairs. I do animals, Alora does plants, and Aisura does humans. We three watch over and help our land and its people. Even as a god you can grow. Nobody is perfect, even a deity who shines with holy light when not relaxed. Peace be with you all, goodnight readers./p
